  • still no loss on the scale - day 5

    Hello everyone!
I don't know if I am being impatient or just over motivated by reading all your amazing threads on this forum. But I am on day 5 of the induction, and have not lost anything yet.
I have controlled my nutrition through fitday and kept everything within the limits, went running for 30 minutes every second day (i did no exercise before Atkins).

I even cut the asperteme and diet coke.

But I do feel a great difference on my energy level, I feel as if I could run a marathon, and not only to the fridge.

Can anyone advice me what to change?

    Thanks for your support

Hurrah for super duper energy levels.
Can you tell us more about your recent menu? I remember the one you posted some days ago - it had a lot of cheese and I thought was a bit heavy on processed meats (that can be salty) as well as low on veggies. What is a daily menu for you now? And tell us what those fitday numbers come out as (calories, fat, carbs, fiber, protein)

You may need to change absolutely nothing if you are sticking to the rules of induction as you posted!

It is a YMMV (your mileage may vary) thing. Some people lose weight at the start of their 14 days of induction, some lose slowly throughout the 14 days, some lose several pounds towards the end of the 14 days. And some lose absolutely no weight but lose inches and feel 100% better.

Wait till the 15th day and see what your weight has done then check in DANDR to work out your metabolic resistance to weightloss and then plan the rest of your Atkins journey.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

It sure doesn't look like a lot of food. Are you eating enough? Also what are your stats? Height, weight, age and amount you want to lose, etc.

I totally agree with Elsie150. Goodness...that is not very much food. My 10 yr old grandson eats more than that.

Re: still no loss on the scale - day 5

I am female, 26, 5'7 and I curently weigh 205 lbs. It is my hoghest weight ever, and I felt the very best of my life at 160 lbs.
I want to loose 45 lbs, and then set a new goal.

My appetite has been soo low this weeks, that I did not need anything else. I was waiting for cravings, or for more appetite, but nothing. I know this is not much food, but I was not hungry... I sometimes had to force myself to eat breakfast.

So what is your suggestion? double my intake? eat more meat? more food in between the meals? Since I started Atkins, I am not even hungry for a snack anymore.

I thought I had to follow my appetite.

Thank you! (and by the way, your results are amazing!!!!)

How many calories do you eat per day on average?

Re: still no loss on the scale - day 5

My average calories this week were around 1300 a day. I have never been a great eater, and this diet cut it even more.
I tried the ketostix this morning and they are above medium. So I am getting there, and I just need to be patient. after all, I am loosing inches around the waiste already.

So the only comment you guys have is that I should eat more. That is good to know that I don't make any other mistakes.

I will hang in there! my energy is very high, and I will loose those punds soon!

Thank you for your support everyone!

Way to go on losing the inches. It shows this WOE is working for you. You should be eating at or near your BMR...1739.45cal..even a couple of hundred over. Try eating more calorie dense foods. Quiche or casseroles will help.
