  • Hi, I'm JS and I'm new...again!

    Hi everyone,

Well I'm new here. I did the Atkins diet about 3 years ago but only made it through induction - I was 20 when I did it the first time, and ran into problems when a) I did not buy my own food, my rents still did and b) I did not know how to cook and c) I was too immature to have the discipline to stick with it.

    BUT

I lost 7 pounds in the first 11 days. Enough to know this works.

I'm a little concerned with the long term sustainability of this diet though, but I am willing to give it a real shot. I don't have the Atkins book right now (I'm not sujre where I put it last time) but I know the basics for Induction. I'm gonna google it and make a little notesheet to carry around with me.

    So today is Day 1:

breakfast: 3 eggs, scrambled, margarine, 3 slices bacon (1carb)

I know coffee isn't allowed but i will literallydie without it - so 1 medium coffee, 2 tbsp cream (1) and 2 splenda (2)

    lunch: 2 chkn skewers (0) 2 boiled eggs (0) tuna (0) with 2 tbsp mayo (2)

dinner: ground beef (2, I seasoned it), lettuce (2 cups....1), ranch dressing (1). onion & tomato (1), sour cream (2) and cheese (0)

and that's what i've got on the agenda so far. i'll probably cook up some chicken or something when I get home tonight. I will see how hungry I am.

I'm not sure what I weigh, since I am scared to check. I am convinced I am addicted to carbs, so I'm hoping to lose about 20 lbs on this died, and kill my addiction.

    Wish me luck!!!

Welcome back to the plan and congrats on the 7 lbs! Sounds like you're off to a good start.
