  • Breakfast ideas?

Anyone have any new ideas for breakfast? I'm finally getting tired of eggs, cheese and sausage/bacon, although these fill me up and keep me going for hours. Thanks!

If you aren't too sick of eggs, try cooking them in a different way:

    omelette
    crustless quiche
    scrambled

Sometimes cooking things differently breaks up the monotony.

      Re: Breakfast ideas?

Saturday I had flax cereal. It was kind of like Malto Meal but not malted. haha I put the flax meal, a little splenda. a little of heavy cream, and butter. I covered it with water and put it in the micro wave. Definitely a change of pace from the eggs every day. I think the flax muffin, mock danish sound good for breakfast too. I'm at work so can't post recipes. Anyone have them handy.

Look up the recipe for Oopsie rolls and bake them with your own variations!! My husband and I have baked Oopsies topped with a little splenda, cinnamon & tiny bits of crushed macadamia nuts and they are great-- almost like a breakfast muffin!

When I am sick of eggs, I do one of three things:

          1) eat more bacon and skip the eggs
          2) eat 1/2 cup pureed pumpkin mixed with some heavy cream, Splenda and vanilla extract
          3) eat dinner leftovers

I'm getting more and more used to eating non-traditional breakfast foods for breakfast the longer I am on this WOE.

I also eat dinner left overs when I feel like I can't eat another egg. I also change it up like Megs said, hard boiled, easy over, scrambled, with salsa, with spinach, etc.

pumpkin is one of my favorites also like the mock danish from linda's site is great. (see the link below)

Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes

it's still eggs, but the cream cheese and splenda kinda offsets the egg taste. i even like to add a couple tablespoons of pumpkin to mine, makes it taste more like a pancake, (atleast to me).

there's really nothing that says you have to have eggs for breakfast every morning. how about a tuna salad, or some leftover meatloaf, or taco meat. if you still want to eat eggs every day,(because they really are one of the most perfect foods) find ways to add them into whatever you fix for dinner or lunch. add some hardboiled eggs to a salad, or use them in chicken broth to make egg drop soup.

We had this egg dish at a B&B. It takes about 1/2 to fix if you add the mushrooms. Without that step it's about 20 mins. but it is a nice change to the usual egg dish.

Here is one of my favorite quick and easy breakfasts. It spices up the same old egg/cheese/sausage medley. As a tip, look for shredded cheese that has no potato starch OR shred your own. The recipe is worth the extra step. Enjoy!
