  • I just did something AMAZING!!!!

    Hello all,

    I am so very proud of myself that I thought I'd share my triumph

    After returning to my desk this morning (I'm at work) I found a Starbuck's gift bag sitting on my chair with a note from one of my co-workers thanking me for a favor. Inside the bag was a giant bowl of delicious looking fruit salad and one of their huge cinnamon rolls covered in frosting!!! I sat there pondering the situation for a little while... (all the while, please keep in mind that the gift-giving co-worker sits only about 10 feet away from my desk!)

    I thought: "no one knows you're on Atkins, eat it! It was a gift, it would be RUDE not to eat it!"

    But alas! I overcame the sweet and carbfull temptations!! After graciously thanking my co-worker, I told her that I'd already had breakfast and that I was going to save it for lunch. Then, I waited for her to leave her desk and I took the bag over to another friend of mine and GAVE IT AWAY!

    All I have to say is: GO ME! If my fat *** keeps up this kinda behavior, it won't be so fat anymore!!!!

    Good for you! Its so easy to rationalize eating something but afterwards the guilt is horrible and the thoughts of having to go back to the first two weeks of induction because of one treat are enough to keep me away.

      Danielle2842, you are so funny! That was awesome! Way to be a quick thinker. I don’t want anyone to know I am enjoying this WOL, either. It just makes it a lot easier. That was just a little temptation to try and throw you off track. Way to go!

        That is SOOOOO great!!!!!!

        Good for you!! Those are the kind of situations that makes the weak of heart <takes a bow> fall not just off the wagon, but pretty much the ground too!! LoL!!

          I am so proud! Everyone everywhere knows I'm on Atkins, otherwise I'll never make it After a couple weeks, the treats stopped coming... one of my supervisors always walks around with a big container of candy and passes them out and eventually just stopped even coming by my desk... I'm so pleasantly suprised how well it works out for them to know... I didn't tell them at first, because there is all of the controversey surrounding Atkins, but I'm glad they are supportive anyhow!

              You can say no to anything now. Great job! Don't you just love the will power that you get when doing Atkins? It's amazing what steady blood sugar levels will do for you.
