0 carbs ... and once you get used to the taste ... well at least for me ... It can become a lemonade substitute. I actually really like the taste now ... and often drink up to 8 oz at a sitting.

I usually only drink it in the AM because I get a signifigant energy boost from it.

For digestion ... it works wonders ...

I generally feel better when I am drinking it regularly.

      Aloe Vera Juice Benefits

Aloe vera is known primarily for its cooling and soothing properties, especially for treating burns, irritation, and various skin conditions. But this herb has other uses, which are not as popular but certainly no less beneficial. Aloe vera juice benefits include improved digestion, blood circulation, detoxification, and pain relief.
Aloe vera gel is obtained from the leaves of the aloe plant, and may be applied topically or added to drinks. Aloe vera juice contains various vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, B-complex, iron, copper, calcium, potassium, and manganese. It is also safe to drink daily – in fact, experts recommend drinking at least two glasses every day to obtain maximum aloe vera juice benefits. Here are some of the most common aloe vera juice benefits:
      Digestive aid
Aloe vera juice stimulates colonic irrigation, the process of loosening and washing out waste materials from the digestive system. These include food residues, toxins, and bacteria. These wastes can clog the intestinal lining and prevent nutrients from getting fully absorbed. Studies show that taking aloe vera juice regularly over several weeks can help break down residues and improve colonic irrigation. It also regulates the production of stomach acids, preventing digestive problems like ulcer, acid indigestion, colitis, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
      Anti-inflammatory and pain relief
Aloe vera juice benefits people with rheumatoid arthritis analgesic and anti-inflammatory abilities. It helps relieve joint pain, reduce stiffness, and improves joint movement to prevent waste buildup. It also contains mucopolysaccharides, which are basic sugars essential in cell regeneration. This helps rebuild muscle tissues and disperse damaged cells. Its cooling ability also alleviates pain and inflammation.
      Cancer and blood disease prevention
Another important element in aloe vera juice is acemannan, which is believed to increase the production of white blood cells. This helps the body fight bacteria and viruses, as well as prevent the growth of cancer cells. It is currently being studied for potential use against breast and ovarian cancer, leukemia, and diseases caused by low blood cell counts.
IMPORTANT: Aloe vera juice is considered a dietary supplement, so it is does not follow the same regulations as standard medicines. Some aloe vera products contain silica, starch, gluten, or other extenders that can hinder aloe vera juice benefits and even harm your health. To stay safe, buy only products that are GMP-compliant and avoid those that contain artificial additives, such as food colors and flavorings.
Wow, amazing! I'm going to grab some at Trader Joe's the next time I go.

I just got back from my 3yo's GI appt, the doctor suggested that we use George's Aloe juice for him and said that one tastes just like water. We're going to order some for him. Just figured I'd share. Here's the one - Warren Labs Aloe Vera Products

I was wondering if it's okay to drink while on Induction. I am assuming it is because it has zero carbs, however, it's not on the list. I want to make sure before I go out and get some.

Also, does it REALLY give you an energy boost? If so, this is great! I could drink it in the morning while I am walking and feel energized even more by the time I am done. This could replace coffee, huh?

            Wow! I'm excited about this.

I find it neccassary to bring this thread back with a question. I've been doing 4 ounces a day. 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. As I was cruising through Fitday, I saw it listed so decided to check it out. It said for my 4 ounces it has 60 calories and 14 carbs! I was shocked. Even though my bottle says 0. Are there diffeent kinds that have things added. Well, I mean, I know there is but you'd think fitday would only count the purest form. Which one do I go by?
My doctor told me to stop having intimate dinners for four. Unless there are three other people.

                Re: Aloe Juice

I'd go by what's on the bottle. The one on fitday could be any brand and possibly sweetened.

It's always good to check other carb counters, there's nothing that says that fitday is the 100% accurate counter out there ;-) I always go by the packaging over any online tool..since by law they have to show the nutrional facts on there.

however I like calorieking.com when it's something that's not labelled.

here is what they list for trader joes brand, 1g of carbs (it could be that yours has just under 1g and they can legally list it as 0) CalorieKing - Calorie Counter - Calories in Trader Joe's, Fruit Juices: 100% Organic Aloe Vera Leaves

                  Re: Aloe Juice

I wonder if bottled Aloe Vera juice has been pasteurized/heated, it must be if it is not refrigerated and short dated, or does it contain preservatives? and if that destroys the good benefits? Many homeopathic remedies are great but must be taken in the raw form to reap the rewards. Just wondering.. Tom do you know?

I normally put aloe on my burns, i know it tastes terrible so i dont know if i could stomach drinking it. I heard it has a laxative effect and thats why GNC sells (or atleast used to sell) an aloe vera diet thing that is sorta like the hollywood diet.

Just wanted to follow up and say I bought the George's Aloe and it is great! Tastes just like water! I take it daily along with my 3yo and 6yo. My oldest had some constipation issues from meds she takes, she has done great on it. My youngest has GI issues (has since birth) and he has been doing well. I would highly recommend the George's! I ordered mine from www.mothernature.com - great price and reasonable flat rate shipping.

the stuff my health food store was a whopping $20 for just a quart, so that deal was pretty decent in comparison. but I hear you, $25 for a gallon is exorbitant too.
