I usually don't eat things high in sodium because they don't taste good when eating the Atkins way. When I do eat something; like hot chicken wings, that are high in sodium, I never worried about retaining water. I figured eventually my body would rid the extra water from my system and I was still burning fat. I got thinking this today......Does sodium cause stalls in acutal weight loss? Does sodium in any way interfere with body fat loss? OR Does it simply cause a temporary water gain?

Re: ? about sodium
Yes. Sodium can stall weight-loss and you can retain water.
My suggestion is keep up with your water in-take (I average about 3-4 liters a day) and workout! Atkins said that exercise is a non-negotiable and also gets rid of toxics and extra water weight. I also use Also-Salt which is a "fake salt" with 0 sodium when I salt my foods and it tastes exactly like real salt.
Other than that - if you notice that your amount of sodium is stalling you than cut back.Love, Taylor

(I don't really weight myself that often so this is not very accurate)
