  • Question about my snacks?

Hey guys, its been a while since I read the book (over a year ago)

I'm on OWL and I can't recall if cantolupe (sorry if i didn't spell that right) and popcorn are permissible?

Please let me know since I am eating these two things (not too much of it or everyday) but I just want to feel ok when I am consuming these two things.

Thanks all for your time and response!

    Re: Question about my snacks?

What rung/level of OWL are you at?

Canteloupes become 'legal' on Owl rung 4 (berries and melons other than watermelons)
Popcorn becomes 'legal' on OWL rung 9 (whole grains)
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

      Hi!!
Thanks for replying - I know that this is my third week on atkins so I'm definitely not in any level of rungs except for the first one if anything...so my guess is based on what you said, I shouldn't have any of the two...when are you allowed to change level of rungs?

        Re: Question about my snacks?

After the first 2 weeks on induction you can choose to start the second phase of Atkins, ongoing weight loss (OWL) where you add 5 net carbs of various groups of foods, starting with more portions of your induction veggies.
You can then find out if any foods affect you adversely as well as discovering how many carbs you can eat and still lose weight. Discovering your CCLL (critical carb level for losing) is important for your future Atkins journey as it gives you some guidelines for eating once you reach your goal weight and want to maintain it through life.

If you visit the OWL forum
        (http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/ongoing-weight-loss-owl/)
and read the threads at the top of the forum you will learn how to do OWL, and can ask specific questions there.

Also read Chapters 13 & 14 of 'the manual' (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution/DANDR) for more complete information and instructions.
