    I know the Dr Atkins states, "I encourage you to eat until you're satisfied. Just don't confuse being satisfied with being stuffed. If you have been overweight for a long time, it may take you a while to distinguish between the two sensations. If you are not sure, stop eating before you feel full and see if you are still hungry a few minutes later".

    However, I'm not sure what it 'feels' like to be Hungry or Satisfied. I know that may sound ridiculous but I have gone 48 hours at a time with little or no difficulty or hunger pangs. This, in part, is the reason I battle with my weight; I would not eat for long periods then binge on high carb and fast foods.

    Does anyone have any suggestion on overcoming emotional eating?

    Recognize it for what it is and have a plan in place before a situation arises. IE..come to the boards...call a friend...go for a walk...head for the gym...eat a small fat/protein snack. Know that you are worth more than whatever piece of food you are thinking of eating. JMO

        Also - if you can - try structuring your meals so you don't go for more than 6 hours without eating something.
