    Re: Induction blues.

That's VERY normal - congratulations on losing that weight! It might not "sound" like much but its a *START*!!!!

Try reading this thread - it explains why sometimes the scale doesn't move but you are still losing fat.

hm, well i've been eating a lot of steak , lettuce with blue cheese, italian , or oil and vinegar, asaragus, broccoli , baked chicken and tuna fish.
that has been my menu really.

oh, and sometimes i have 2 hotdogs without buns.

and as for my beverages, i drink water , crystal light , club soda, or diet pepsi.

Okay...your body may be one of the unfortunate ones that do not like artificial sweetners. Dr A recommends Splenda but even that has been known to effect some people. You are limited to 3 servings of artificial sweetners a day. Each one of those do have carbs to count...as does your salad dressing and if you are eating any eggs and cheese. Not sure how much you are eating. You should be eating around your BMR..even a couple of hundred higher if you want. Go to www.fitday.com and pluck in a daily menu. It should be around 5%carbs/65%fat/30%protein

              Re: Induction blues.

I would like to know if there are any recommendations for a good scale. For the fun of it, I weighed myself 3 times today. Each time I was 2 lbs. lighter. I know to weigh my self at the same time every day, but I think my scales (digital) might be inaccurate. I am lucky that I work at a school where the nurse has one of the tried and true platform and sliding measure scale. I weigh myself there once a week.

                Hi there Cassie

First off, let me start out by welcoming you to ADBB's, and congrats on the 2lb loss!

2lbs is alot if you think about it.. you have 4 days under your belt and have lost 2lbs already! That's pretty good I would say.

I'm not a pro at this by any means, but having a look at the items that you listed I can see some no-no's.

                - steak & chicken are good but remember to try different meats
                - tuna is good
                - lettuce is awesome and should be counted towards the 2-3 cups of
salad veggies you're suppose to have everyday.
                - asparagus & broccoli fall under "other vegetables" which you can
have up to 1 cup of per day IF your salad veggies don't exceed 2
                cups.
                - blue cheese or Italian are probably ok as long as you watch for added
sugars and the carb count is low per Tbsp, but I'm guessing most will
say that oil and vinegar may be the better choice?
                - hotdogs are not great, due to being full of so much nasty stuff lol ..
unless you find some that are 100% beef, chicken or pork I would
avoid them. But that's just my take on hotdogs.
                - beverages, water is the Best Choice and also remember that you
need to drink a min. of eight - 8oz glasses a day. Crystal Light and
Diet Pepsi are no - no's because they have aspartame in them.
However I have seen people talk about a pop that one can have due
to the fact that it's made with Splenda (Diet Rite?). I did find a new
drink mix made by Nestea that is like crystal light except that it's also
made with Splenda which we can have in small doses. Club soda is
                allowed.

You should try adding some eggs and cheese into your foods along with more variety in vegetables. Most of your 20 carbs in a day is suppose to come from veggies.

Curious if you have the Atkins New Diet Revolution Book?

I apologize now if it sounds like I'm just repeating what others may have said. I started out writing this hours ago when there were only a few replies, but I got pulled away from my computer and couldn't get back to finish until now.

You seem disappointed with your 2lb loss, but if you think of 2lbs gone every 4 days (hypothetically speaking of course).. that would average out to like 14lbs+ a month.. now you tell me.. what's so wrong with that? LOL I realize that it won't stay 2lbs every week.. I'm just trying to get you to see a grander picture is all.

You should do yourself a favor.. put the scale away! You weighed yourself on the day you began and hopefully took your measurements? On your 8th morning, get up, stretch if yah want lol, go to the washroom, and then go do the scale visit and take your measurements again. You will see changes for the better! But please know that you will have some fantastic weeks and then some not so great weeks. Every pinch of pound lost.. is a success!!!

                        Hello cassie,

Yes that is normal, hang in there because you will be dropping fat consistently. Your results sound similar to mine, and I am thinner already on my first week of induction.
But, I don't bother weighing myself, I'm going strictly by how I look in the mirror.

Again, don't get discouraged, stick to the plan, it works.
