Things I don't miss...and some of the things I now enjoy.

  • Things I don't miss...and some of the things I now enjoy.

    Some of the things I don't miss now that I am in better health and shape due to the Atkins way of life:

    1. Grunting when I bent over to tie my shoe.
    2. Feeling tired all the time in spite of a lot of sleep.
    3. Wearing pants low ... without trying to be hip.
    4. Having kinda high blood pressure 120/.
    5. Eating vast quantities of junk food like Doritos, knowing and not caring that it was bad for me, and still not being satisfied.
    6. Bad photos. Reflections of me in big store windows.
    7. Snug airplane seats.
    8. Being winded after a flight or two of steps.
    9. The occasional fat comment.
    10. Having to move up from XX to XXX shirts.

    Things I now enjoy:
    1. Feeling good.
    2. Biking and running.
    3. Eating.
    4. Having a lot of energy all the time. Looking forward to the gym or whatever.
    5. Photos.
    6. Smaller clothes that fit and look better.
    7. Fewer health issues at the Dr. (good blood pressure 100/)
    8. Reflections in windows and mirrors.
    9. Going out more.
    10. Looking forward to most everything.

    I don't miss the hard work it was to put on my socks.

    I enjoy not wanting french fries or chips and not feeling deprived because I can't eat them anymore.

      Things I don't miss-

      Dreading clothes shopping
      Being mad because I got out the door late and I don't have time to stop for donut holes
      Spending 6 dollars a week on fried sugar coated nutrition-less white flour dough
      Not being able to cross my legs
      Having only one pair of pants that fit because I can't stand to buy big clothes
      Having outgrown all my favorite shirts

      Things I love...

      That low 'tingle' after a good workout
      Loving a big glass of ice water
      Butter on my broccoli.. the real stuff
      Wearing a skirt while out and about and not just walking.. sashaying like a confident, happy woman.
      The fact that every time I put a garment on.. there is a little bit more room in it!
      Eating veggies 3 times a day, and knowing it is so good for me
      Having the energy to clean house, work at my job, and still take my girls to the lake!

        I don't miss...
        1. trying to hide my belly "hump" with big shirts...it's very low now, almost gone!
        2. Being winded walking up the stairs.
        3. Sitting in the rocking chair at work and getting up worried about being stuck
        4. Looking forward to my future and seeing my premature death due to my weight.
        5. Feeling Lazy!
        6. Feeling Tired All The Time!
        7. Feeling guilty about eating things I shouldn't.....like a WHOLE PINT of Ben and Jerry's....oh god.
        8. Eating instant boxed meals instead of home cooked.

        I love....
        1. Fitting into clothes that "used to fit"
        2. Cooking healthy food for hubs and me.
        3. Knowing that my normal clothes are getting big.
        4. People congratulating me on my weight loss...and then being a bit jealous!
        5. Knowing a year from now I'll will be fabulous and maybe pregnant.
        6. I am healthier!
        7. Knowing that one day the fat jokes, comments and snide remarks will stop.
        8. How sweet tomatoes taste!

          Brain fog
          Migraines
          IBS

          What I now I enjoy?

          Looking like I'm 30 !! (or so I've been told!)
          Being a marathon runner
          Clear thinking
          No bodyaches / headaches
          No digestive issues
          Size ONE (junior)
