I live on Vancouver Island, and the only place that carries any kind of sugar-free syrup is Starbucks - I have their vanilla, but I can't find any place that carries any fruit-flavored ones. Does anybody have any ideas/suggestions as to where I could find some? I'd love to try cleo's crepes but with no syrup they'd be pretty bland.

Re: Syrups in British Columbia
Hi,
If you can't find syrup, you can order some in from the low carb grocery in Toronto.
www.lowcarbgrocery.com
Or you can try making your own:
Flavored Syrup (like DaVinci)
1 cup syrup:
1 cup water
1/2 tbsp extract
1 tbsp liquid splenda, or 24 pkts (you can get liquid splenda from ebay)
1/2 tsp guar gum
or
1/2 cup syrup:
1/2 cup water
3/4 tsp extract
1 1/2 tsp liquid splenda, or 12 pkts
1/4 tsp guar gum
or
1/4 cup syrup:
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp extract
3/4 tsp liquid splenda, or 6 pkts
1/8 tsp guar gum
Boil water with extract and sweetener. Remove from heat and add guar gum, 1/4 tsp at a time and stir WELL. This will thicken upon cooling.
Carb counts: with liquid splenda = 0. Each pkt of splenda is .5 carbs.

Re: Syrups in British Columbia
I have ordered syrups from low carb grocery and they arrive packaged well and safe, There is nothing remotely like it around here. Arrived in 3 days for me in NS, and shipping was very reasonable. The blueberry is fantastic.!Last edited by headabovewater; September 6, 2008, 06:37 AM.

You can also find them in the gourmet foods section of Winners or HomeSense. They don't always have them, but when they are in stock they are usually half the price than what you pay on-line and you don't have to pay for shipping.

Re: Syrups in British Columbia
Well I had no luck at Winners or Homsesense. The Bay only had the sugared Torani syrups. Unfortunately no IGA or Loblaws here, so what I'm going to do is get some extracts off ebay and make my own syrups. All the places that ship the syrups have crazy shipping fees, and I can't see spendin $100 on syrups just to get free shipping. Thanks for all the help.
