I have the same question. Did you ever get an answer on PGX?

    Thanks.

Hard to say, it's a fairly new suppliment so I doubt the Atkins corp has even checked it out so i doubt even they will have anything on their site.

From what I can see it's mostly forms of fibre... I'd assume the amounts of carob etc would be very tiny since it's part of the makeup of the capsule.

Maybe if you find you are losing too slowly or stall you may want to stop taking themt o see if that's the culprit.

        Looking at the monograph http://www.wnpharmaceuticals.com/pdf...duct_867_2.pdf
on the website you linked to I saw this explanation of how it is supposed to work.
When consumed, PGX develops its full viscosity in the stomach and small intestine. This added bulk in the stomach produces a feeling of fullness and decreases appetite. A number of factors contribute to this increased satiety including increased gastric distension and delayed gastric emptying, a blunting of the postprandial glucose and insulin surge, and the release of various satiety hormones, which alert the brain that the stomach is full20. Therefore, PGX’s volume and viscosity may make it easier for overweight individuals to cut back on caloric intake.
Many of us find we eat less when in ketosis anyway. I feel you should try induction without using the PGX so you can allow the natural appetite supressant of being in ketosis to do its work without interference.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

          Re: PGX during induction?

i have been taking PGX for months. i have irritable bowel syndrom so that means either consto or diarhea most of the time. this product is a soluble fibre that soaks up water and 'evens things out' so u won't get this watery poo that a lot of people here are mentioning, nor will you get consto. i don't take it as a diet pill.

so far on induction i've lost 6 pounds and i take PGX 4 capsules 3 times per day. the capsules are basically non negotiable in my case so i just kept taking them as normal.

the capsules are made of glucomannan. it's from the conjac root. it's a fibre and thus is not absorbed as calories. i don't know what atkins would say but i am really a fan of this product because it really helped my symptoms.

btw it is NOT a stimulant diet product. it is also not the same as insoluble fibre products.
