  • Scared!

So, I ended my two week induction and started OWL yesterday, although I haven't really added many carbs- maybe 5g or so of vegtables

The thing is, I got down to 163.5 last week, and now I am back up to 165.5. I am not sure what I am doing wrong but I am scared that I wont lose any more weight!!!

Any ideas on why I would be gaining?

    Re: Scared!

Firstly - adding 5 net carbs of extra induction veg is just the right amount for OWL rung one, so well done!

Try to be exact when working out how many net carbs you are adding in OWL as that will make things easier to control.

As to gaining weight - if you are female you will probably find that your weight varies by a few pounds up or down whatever you are eating - due to hormone fluctuations and the time of the month. For this reason many people only weigh once a week or if daily take an average over the week to be able to check trends rather than worry about the normal fluctuations.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

      Re: Scared!

thanks so much for the reply. After reading this post, I found the "weight loss is not linear" post, which also made me feel much better.

I also measured myself, and I have lost an inch or so from my waist.

      I feel much better

        Re: Scared!

I chart my weight every morning (i have a calender just for tracking my weight) and i can tell you that it goes up and down constantly like the side of a bumpy mountain or hill. I still panick when it goes up day after day (like this week) but i just keep reassuring myself that it will go back down. 2 weeks ago it was going up then last week I lost 4 lbs. Then i gained a lb since saturday. I have been eating the same foods pretty much and i have never cheated. Well thats if you define cheating the way i do. Last week (when i dropped 4 lbs) I had run out of heavy cream for my coffee so i put in almond milk (1 net carb per cup, tastes horrible) and butter in my coffee instead (also had to add cinnamon to keep from gagging). And i ate a couple almonds, also had a diet coke at my families corn roast. I try to keep my cheats to just jumping run cheats, not off diet cheats.
