Does anyone know what to do about muscle cramps. What is causing them? Is it a lack of a vitamin or nutrient? What do I need to be taking? And what is the best multi vitamin to take with the WOE? Any help is appreciated, I'm starting to get cramps in my calf's and even I can feel the tightening in my upper arms.

Re: Muscle Cramps
No just a multi. Do you think I also need to add an extra calcium supplement also? I appreciatiate you getting back to me so soon. I am loosing weight and loosing it at a pretty decent pace but I am almost in tears as I sit here. I look at myself and think I am doomed to look like this forever! I have lost 35 pounds total, but when I look in the mirror I look exactly the same!! I know we were talking about vitamins but guess I'm just having one of those days. I'm so impatient I want to see results NOW!! My husband just says stick with it and u WILL see a change. My clothes are looser though! Sorry for venting........

Re: Muscle Cramps
For the leg cramps take a potassium supplement. I only take 2 a day and they are only 99mg each. You don't want to get too much potassuim because it can affect the heart.
As for the changes in body shape; you just hang in there. Your husband is right, the changes will come. I know it's hard to be patient but it is worth the wait. Be very thankful that your husband is encouraging you and not condemning you, which would be even more depressing. Take heart, work hard, never give in and you'll get where you want to be!!!

Don't worry about venting - we all need to from time to time. Your body will adjust to the weight, I'm the opposite right now - the scale hasn't budged for 4 weeks but I'm losing inches.Originally posted by callog View PostNo just a multi. Re: Muscle Cramps
You lose a lot of water on induction and with it you lose a lot of electrolytes. You should be taking potassium and magnesium. Also, don't cut out all salt. You need those three minerals to keep all the muscles in your body responding--your heart is a big muscle. When you go from a processed foods diet to one of mostly whole foods, you cut out a lot of salt.
Your diet pre-Atkins was probably way low on nutrients and it will take a while to build up the nutrients by eating correctly. Make sure your salad veggies contains a lot of really dark green veggies, like romaine, spinach and kale, mustard or turnip greens. Have some fat with all veggies. There are some nutrients that you cannot absorb without fat eaten along with the veggie.People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
