Re: So you go over one day...
That`s a great attitude
Where are you on your menu plan? Induction or OWL?
Have you ever messed up a little and gotten right back on track the next day?

Re: So you go over one day...
i have slipped up at lunch and got right back on at dinner.. its easy to blow the whole day.. but you have to get back on the horse, so to speak, as soon as you can.. sooner if possible... this is our life we are talking about.. i dont want to ruin the rest of my life because of one lunch.. thats how i choose to look at it anyway...

Re: So you go over one day...
Hey JayBee... Yea.... I've slipped up one day then gotten right back on the next day.... and I tell you, it's a whole lot easier than going off for SEVERAL days then trying to get back on. I've done what sugar sack said too.... the first time I slipped up I was worried about walking a 5K and read somewhere that I needed carbs. So I ate carbs at breakfast and lunch.... literally felt like crap, then went right back on that night at dinner. By the next morning I was back in ketosis which was better than having to wait the usual three days.
As for where I am in my plan.... I'm am going through induction.... AGAIN. LOL Had a GREAT clean induction for 13 days.... then did the slip up on that Friday before the 5K.... then I had another great week of clean induction before falling off of the wagon when Hurricane Ike moved in to Texas. I somehow had this thought in my head that I needed to stock up on sandwich stuff and fruit so we would have something to eat if the power went out. Well... the power didn't go out, but I ate sandwiches for four days anyway. So... this past Tuesday I started over. By the fourth day of being off the plan I felt so bad. No energy and the day before I started back on induction again I slept from 6:00 to 9:00 pm after getting off work. I believe in this way of eating.... I just let other things creep in to my head from time to time. I think that's normal.... especially when just starting. I also have a lot to lose and I got frustrated when in the first month I had only lost eight pounds. I feel that I am EXTREMELY metabolically resistant.... but I think that will clear up after losing maybe just 20 pounds.... it doesn't take much to kick the body into gear, but it sure is resistant in the beginning.

Re: So you go over one day...
I've done all of the above at one time or another, and for some reason at this point in life I'm having the maturity to look at this with a long view. That is, this is my life I'm talking about, like jarvist said above, and at age 51 how many more years do I have left to carry around this extra weight?
During this induction (Day 12) I've intentionally gone off plan at dinner (ie had drinks with a GF) and got right back on at breakfast the next day, only to go to a pot luck the same day where the only legal choice was what I brought, so I ate some of the pot luck choices that were'nt legal, and by dinner went right back on the plan.
I had a mentor in another program I was part of for 4 years, who drilled it into us, if you screw up and eat the whole box of ice cream just after lunch, make sure you eat your legal snack at 3pm (we were eating every 3 hours) and have your legal dinner at 6pm. She drilled it into us, and ever since then it's been my motto. Get right back on the horse and ride with pride! Don't start over, GO FORWARD!redfoxglove

Re: So you go over one day...
I had surgery on tuesday and as of yesterday hadn't eaten for about 48 hours ( pain & painkillers combined)..no kidding as I really wasn`t hungry at all...Last night I had some steak and beer! I am certain that I went over my carb limit but I didn't give a rats bottom as I knew that today would be a new day
If you have it in your mindset that you want to do this WOL the pieces will fall into place.
