  • Carb vs Sugar count

Having to pick between two foods, what do you think is better choice, a lower carb count or a lower sugar count?

(I know we shouldn't eat anything with artificial refined sugars but say out of naturally occuring sugars like fruit.)

well as you move up the rungs you get into fruit ... if you are in induction i would say no sugar... at all .. and most of your carbs should come from veggies...

Ive been on Atkins for 1 year and half and like to pretend I am on the whole grains rung even though it's been more like maintenance for me. It's just a hypothetical question, just wondering what you guys think is worse.

I'm in maintenance, and I think the benefits of having fruits in your diet outweighs the carb counts of them. There's far more to fruit than just the carbs in them. I eat at least 1 apple every day...as well as plums, melons, banana's etc.

if i had a choice between something like a very low carb sweet snack such as a 1 min flax muffin etc, or an apple, i'd honestly pick the apple.

as you can tell, i love apples lol.
