  • Two weeksin still very tired, not loosing weight

    Hi everyone
I started Atkins two weeks ago, I have been quite strict with myself, I felt bad as expected the first few days then I felt better then I started to really feel bad and I continue to have no energy, feel constantly sleepy.

I have lost a bit of weight but to me it just seems like water loss instead of actual fat...I only want to loose 10 kilos.

The only thing that I have cheated with is with peanut butter and maybe a bit more cheese and cream than I should have...

Should I go on the fat fast, but I am worried that I may feel worse, I can hardly get out of bed and go to work....

I really have bben good about having no carbs and sugers....feeling really down but I am determined to get to my goal weight - any suggestions?

    Are you eating enough vegetables?

Two weeks is not enough time to lose a substantial amount of weight. Especially if you only have a small amount to lose.

I guess my advise is try to be patient, and make sure you're eating the foods that will help increase your energy - green and leafy vegetable on the acceptable foods list.

dont worry, i felt the same way on my first 2 weeks also, always tierd and have no energy, also my mucsles felt sole, even though i didnt work out, but then it all went away. it just takes time for your body to adapt to such extreme changes.
      dont give up yet

It sounds like "carb flu" to me. Many people, especially if you have long been addicted to carbs and sugars, expereince something akin to the flu for a few days even a few weeks when cutting carbs. If you are eatting enough meat (iron) and enough veg, and are feeling low, I would just give it a little time and the carb flu should pass.

I lost 10 pounds in the first week of induction and then lost nothing for another week. Your body has to get used to all of the changes.

Stick with it, I feel 100% better now.

I eat mostly baby spinach raw and asparagus as my vegie intake,I should maybe start on some other vegies...but boy am I feeling bad, dark rings under my eyes and very lethargic...

I am totally allergic to sugar and gluten so this is definately the diet for me and I will stick to it, I think that I may aslo have dropped down in my water intake, I really want to excercise but I dont have the energy to do anything

I still feel like that every once in a while. If you get up and exercise it really boosts your energy level. Never thought I'd say that but its true.

Re: Two weeksin still very tired, not loosing weight

I am 74 kilos and 5.3 in height
I should weigh the most 65 kilos
I would be happy with that as I have a very athletic buil and am quite muscular

Eating gluten and sugar always made me feel really ill, rashes, swollen face....but once I had eaten it I would just keep eating it, and the worst I would feel, I am sure many people can relate, I love bread and dough and biscuits and chocolate but they just dont love me, youshould see what I look like when I eat a bowl of past.....bloated and I have to sleep all day after

On Atkins I dont feel at all bloated or have flatulence, my face doesnt swell, so I can see the benefits in those areas, just the loss of energy is really radicle at this stage.

My BMI is high, so I need to loose this weight, gonna up my water in take and maybe take a walk tomorrow out in the open....just good to hear that other people have experienced this...

I kinda expected three days of feeling crappy, then have vast energy and weight loss after, but no such luck just yet...

keep up the faith, and stay STRICTLY to the program, NO CHEATING not once ever, STRICT adherence to induction is the key to success, there will be time during OWL to add in things like peanut butter, and other foods, but stict to this strict regimen and you will thank yourself

I did not loose the first two weeeks, but now I have started the induction over following it strictly. My downfall I think was the cheese....i'll let ya know

Move to OWL, the first rung you add back veggies, being vegetarian (not sure if that's the case since you eat chicken though?) that should offer you more options. the second rung is dairy, which includes yogurt. You will eventuallyhave your plums too if you have no issues with them.

there is alot more to this than indcution, and since you restrict yourself on the meats you eat it's a good idea that you read the OWL chapter of the book again.

I only started to eat chicken when I went on the diet, I knew I would have to increase my protein range, I thought yogurt was a no no because of the sugar and also I thought I should just stay on induction for now until I actually loose some weight.....I am also premenstral at the moment so I guess I wont see any weight loss for anothet two weeks...

What would happen if I had a yogurt now, will it be a disaster?
