  • Hunger depreciation

Before I started this diet, I would typically eat something like:

    2 bowls of cereal
    Toast

    Footlong Sub

    3 Hamburgers

and another meal (usually a small pizza or somethign equivilant)

I'd also drink about 3 cans of pop, a slurpee, and some candy almost everyday.

Anyways, I've been on low carb for about a week, and am having trouble eating. I have to really force myself to eat 2 meals a day, and I usually dont finish my portions. It's really all I can eat. Compared to what I ate before, this is a dramatic drop. Is this typical?

Appetite suppression is very typical! You change your body's energy source, it says 'burn body fat for enerygy? I have plenty of that woohoo!'

Now YOU are on control of your intake, not your cravings!

Good job getting into the 'it will really work' part of the plan!

Yes yes yes! Welcome to the sought after side effect of ketosis!

Yep...the great news is your doing it right. make sure that you are eating at or near your BMR. A good way to get the calories up if you are low is casseroles..they are pretty calorie dense. Keep up the great work.
