Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
he said, 'Don't count calories.'

Oh, and I'd also love tips on how to incorporate fats into your meals. I've tried adding additional oil/butter to say a steak when I'm cooking it, but I'm not sure how much of that I actually end up eating.
Hi Bunny, MUFAS (monounsaturated fats) are a extremely healthy way to get fats into your woe. As in Olive oil as Brian mentioned there's also canola oil and dressings made with flaxseed oil. Ten to 20 olives a day are a good MUFA aswell as a 1/2 of an avacado. Nuts and seeds, if you're in that Rung are a healthy Monounsaturated fat. Eating salmon is a good way to get Omega-3 fatty acids in, aswell as mackerel or herring. Virgin coconut oil is another great oil to cook with or use in recipes. Cocoa or chocolate is a good MUFA. If I think of any more I'll be back. Sherri

You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it. ~Maya Angelo~
I sometimes put unsalted butter in my decaf coffee if i think im not getting enough fat. Doesn't change the taste.

I buy cheaper pieces of meat that often have more fat. I use generous amounts of olive oil when I fry something. I add an ounce or so of heavy cream to my omelet. Call me a little strange, but I like butter and cream straight up, so I grab a pat of the former and a swig of the latter from time to time.
Flavored butter. Soften a stick of butter by letting it stay out in room temperature. Put it into a bowl and mix it until creamy. Then flavor it with herbs and spices. Put the butter onto a piece of plastic wrap and shape it into a log. Put in the freezer. Divide the butter log into 8 pieces. Each piece is a tablespoon of butter. You can use that flavored butter as a "ready-sauce" for meats. To a piece of hot meat, like a grilled steak, put on the butter. The butter will melt, forming a sauce into which you can dip your meat slices----that's what they do at many upscale steak houses.
