  • Hubby was being nice but messed up

Hubby has made breakfast for the last two days. Bacon with scrambled eggs with cheese on them, it was delicious, but I just found out in passing conversation that he has been using MILK in the scrambled eggs instead of a touch of the heavy cream I bough for that purpose. He knows I can't have milk, but he "assumed" that the little amount he used wouldn't make a difference.

I'm not really mad at him, as he's not one to intentionally sabotage my efforts, in fact he's generally quite supportive. But how do I make him understand that when I say none of a certain product, I mean none. I guess I know my answer, I'll have to make it myself

So I guess my shot at a perfectly clean induction is gone.

I wouldnt sweat a splash of milk it would only have minute carbs. Just keep going. There was a time when i would have ate a bag of chips because my induction wasnt perfect! Then 3 weeks later i would try again, gaining 10lbs.

Just to add my two cents, from a culinary perspective, I'm not sure that the milk does much more than "thin down the mix." I think we debated this earlier and found that basically, it just depends on what mom or granny always did as to how people make scrambled eggs. Really, I have made them both ways, and there's not really a huge difference in their density, flavor, etc. Most of the flavor to scrambled eggs is derived from what you put in while they are liquid, and I'm betting that the milk could be coming close to evaporating before the eggs are finished, so you may want to try them without either the cream or the milk, as the taste probably won't be impacted.

And I'd like to argue that if you get nice fresh eggs from pasture raised birds, they would have a delish taste all their own
That said, one of those tv chefs insisted that adding milk or cream to eggs made them tougher, and only water, if anything should be added.
I only add water cause my girls lay me yummy eggs *wink*

I don't mean to be dismissive, but I agree with some of the other posters in saying that the splash of milk ( I'm assuming an oz or two ) is not going to sabotage your efforts, you may forgive your ignorant husband, but gently remind him that it's important to you ( both psychologically and physiologically ) for him to use cream and not milk, because those milk carbs can add up, and you'd rather have veggies instead
