    Hey...my first thread...yay!

Anyway...day 8 of induction here and I have a little bit of a dilemma. I know there is no excuse but i didn't not weigh myself at the beginning of induction ...nor have I since. I think I was afraid I would have a nervous breakdown if I weighed myself and the number was just too shocking for me. So, my dilemma is I have no idea if I have lost any weight. I am too scared to step on the scale....I think i might feel a little smaller...or maybe thats wishful thinking but I have really been following the diet to the "t."

    Hi there,
    Welcome to ADBB!
By all means get the tape measure out and measure your body. That way at least you'll know how many inches you're losing.
Congratulations to the 8 days of Induction.

I know exactly how you feel! It took all I had to get on the scale! I hadn't been on in a long long time! I was afraid I would totally flip out! I got a huge wake up call but I'm okay! Don't get too uppset about it...I talked myself into being okay with it no matter !! I am so use to talking down to myself but I feel really good now...I bet you do too! You should be proud! I'm on day 4!
        Hugs!

          measure, measure, measure

measure yourself with a non cloth tape measure, measure you arm, waist, hips, thigh, what ever you want to .. write the date and the measurements down then in a week do it again and compare.. dont worry about the scale.. you can go thru times of not losing weight but losing inches.. and honestly what is more important.. and if you are excercising at all you can be building musle
          1 lb fat= softball size
1 lb muscle = golf ball size

so you see.. if you are 200 lbs of fat you are a bigger size than 200 lbs of muscle therefore the weight doesnt really matter.. its the size that matters (yes its true)

Yes jump on the scale now. Measure your self! Be proud o f the pounds you lost. When I stepped on the scale before induction, I realized what my hubby and kids have realized for a long whilebut were to polite to say anything. Despite the fact that I said I was not gaining weight (how could I when I didn't go up in clothes size?) I had actually gained almost 20 pounds, and I was already over weight. It may be a shock but if you can accept the realtiy of it, it will be easier to stick with the program. I was ashamed to see 250 pounds on the scale, but coming clean with myself and my hubby/kids was very cleansing...

So weigh yourself today and then not again for a couple weeks .. or just dont weigh at all ... (Thats what id do) and go by your measurements and the fit of your clothes etc. besides the scale cound is just a number and me .. i dont care what number is on the scale so much as i just want to look and feel good.. If i throw on a pair of jeans and 'feel' hot, then i dont care what the scale has to say about it

                  Measurements are much more fun!...
Our weights fluctuate so much for varied reasons that it can cause great stress as you go.
