  • Canned beanless chile?

Has anyone ever found a canned beanless chile that is okay for induction? Seems like there should be one somewhere, as I can make it at home induction friendly.

I've read the lables of several and they are definately out. What I want is something quick and easy for camping that I can roast a couple of Hebrew National dogs over the campfire, and smother them with chile, onions, cheese and mustard without the bun, or the hassle of making it from scratch.

i dont find chlli a hassle to make from scratch at all. If you make a batch before hand you can take it up in a container (and freeze some for when you're at home, it's a great quick meal.). That way you also know exactxly what's in it and the carb count.

I've personally never seen a canned beanless chilli but I live in Canada so it may be available in the US.

I have seen canned beanless chili but i havent checked the carb count. If it is anything like my moms chili (has brown sugar in it) i doubt it would be ok to eat. You are probably better off making your own and freezing it in serving size bags/containers.

Does Atkins have a low carb canned beanless chili? Maybe other diet companies offer it online (probably expensive?)

The Tobasco brand used to make a chili which was based on their hot sauce instead of the traditional recipe. So it was a very low carb meal, just brown the meat, pour in the jar, and boom...it was a different sort of chili, however, but very very good.

That said, I don't know if they still make it, as I got a bit burned out on it and quit eating it some time ago.

              Here is an easy recipe:

              Low Carb Beanless Chili
              3 pounds ground beef
14 fluid ounces beef broth, canned
14 fluid ounces chicken broth, canned
              8 fluid ounces tomato sauce
              1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
              salt -- to taste
              SPICE MIX:
              8 tablespoons mild chili powder
              2 tablespoons hot chili powder
              3 tablespoons cumin
              1 tablespoon garlic granules
              1 tablespoon onion granules

Brown meat; drain and add to pot with broths and tomato sauce.

Stir together ingredients for Spice Mix in a small bowl.

Add 75% of spice mix to pot with meat and sauce; bring to boil; simmer 2 hours.

Add Tabasco and remaining spices; cook half hour more or until meat is tender. Add salt to taste.

I've seen beanless chili, but it was thickened with both cornmeal and flour !
