  • The opposite of not being hungry!

ok guys i was reading all the posts in this thread and i was wondering to my self, how come i have the complete opposite reaction to this diet.
dont get me wrong i absolutly love it, but i find my self hungrier than ever after everything i eat. i never seem to be fully satisfied, regardless of how much i eat and how fatting the meals and snacks are
i dont get it. my weight stays the same, maybe just a slight shift every once in a while, but no major weightloss or gain, which is ok too.
but i would like to eat less. any suggestions?

Re: Not hungry and it may be a problem?

Is there any particular food that gives you the 'hungries'? Feeling hungry between meals or having cravings are some of the blood-sugar symptoms Dr Atkins talks about in DANDR.

I have found that one of my favourite snacks (chopped celery in mayo) seems to affect me by making me want to keep nibbling other foods, so I have stopped preparing that for a while to see if things change.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

nope not at all. for example, i eat half
rotisserie chicken with butter...and i can still go for more and more after
and i usualy make lunch at home so i can take it to work, but i end up eating it around 10:30 am. so i end up buying lunch lol
i mainly lots of meat, fish, chicken with skin, tuna, butter, olive oils and some vegies
so this is why i dont understand why i get such cravings

SHAY: Perhaps you can post your menu and continued concerns in another thread like you have a couple other times so people are better able to help you. Using rhiannonwins' or other members' threads not only makes your questions slip between the cracks, but also confuses 2 very polar topics. It's harder for you to find the advice you seek this way. Additionally, I'm sure some people feel it a more polite gesture when a fellow member avoids unintentionally or intentionally hijacking a thread they originally designed to address their own concerns. Just a bit of forum etiquette, I suppose.

I know you've been advised to increase your vegetable intake a couple times before. Were you able to accomplish that?

Good luck and as I've mentioned in your previous threads on the topic - people here are full of good and reliable advice. If you take it, you'll be likely to succeed.

Many commercial rotisserie chickens have sugar solution injected into the meat to make them more tasty which could contribute to cravings.

              Good point, Asclepius
I have therefore split the posts and responses into their own thread to avoid confusion.

Great! Your post got moved into a new thread. Should be much clearer now.

ELIZELLEN: I had NO IDEA about the rotisserie chickens! I picked one up 2 nights ago and of course could find no blatant nutritional information and just figured, "Eh - it's chicken. How bad could it possibly be?" Boy, the one night I don't cook at home and I was tricked!! Looks like I need to find a way to make that garlic & herb seasoned goodness on my own.

I was reading on another low carb site that eating too much protein and not enough fat can cause you to be hungry. I've been suffering from hunger too and then I, as I was reading this info, I realized that I have cut back on butter and cream cheese, both fattening and filling.

thanx guys for creating a seperate thread for this topic.
i didnt wanna do that my self coz i felt alittle annoying, and to be honest alittle rediculous sharing my lame little weight loss experiences lol. so i appreciate it
anyways, my menu i feel contains enough fats, veggies and protiens, but i could be wrong. here it is:
7:15 --> 2 scrambled eggs with butter and cheese, with tuna and olive oil on the side
10:30 --> either chicken salad with spinich or 2 peices of grilled fillet of salmon with spinich salad.
12:15 --> rotisserie chicken breast with skin
2:30 - 3:00 --> a few slices of provolone cheese or tuna salad
                      6:00 --> a cup of broccoli
7:30 --> more chicken or sometimes a piece of 10 oz sterlion steak
after 7:30 --> i wip some carb free sugar free wipped cream with a big of chocolate falvoured low carb protein shake for dessert

i know it sounds like way too much for a person my size, but i cant help it, i crave food ALL THE TIME lol, but i try not to cheat, so i eat things that i feel im allowed to have.

                      thanx guys...ur all awsome

Open up a fitday.com acccount (it's free) and enter the foods and beverages you drink into it. Just eyeballing your posted menu, it looks to be high protein (more than 30% of your daily calories.) Atkins is a high fat diet. So over 60% of your daily calories should be from fat.

Excess dietary protein, according to Dr. Atkins, is converted into sugar, which is stored as fat. So you aren't doing yourself any favors by eating too much protein.

Also, lose the low carb high protein shake for dessert----in our collective experience, those shakes and bars have a weight stalling effect on some folks.

By the way.... during your meals, the fiber you eat from vegetables helps to fill you up. The fat you eat during your meals helps keep you full between meals.

so what does that leave me with?
how can i increase fat without increasting my protien? i eat 2 eggs aday, should i eat more eggs, more mayo perhaps? should i fry all my meats instead roadting them and grilling them? maybe that would help
i also have fiber pills named PGX Daily, i heard these help with weight loss because of the amount of fiber in these pills. they will supress the appetite. anyone knows anything about those?

There is a good thread in the 14-day induction forum about how to add mroe fat if needed

I often list the foods I intend to eat in my fitday account in advance so I can play with the ratios by adding/deducting more butter or olive oil, or eating a larger or smaller portion of meat etc to get them closer to what I want.
