    Re: Pork Skins

    Hi there,
Based on what I've read on this site we should exclude the BBQ flavored rinds. We should stick to the plain flavor. I also enjoy the BBQ ones but for the time being I'm sticking to the plain.

Yes, get the plain one. I eat them all the time. The flavored ones always have sugar. You can flavor the plain one yourself.

That is so sad to know.... I eat them all of the time, maybe that is why I was not losing weight before. I haven't tried the plain ones, not sure I want to.
I really like the BBQ ones and the Salt and Vinegar ones .. Oh Well. One more thing I get to take off the list of foods I get to eat.

You can make a dip with a small amount of sour cream, flavored with hot sauce or salsa; there must be sugar-free BBQ sauce out there somewhere, how 'bout mixing a dollop of that in the creamy stuff? It's a nice occasional treat, washed down with a Diet Rite soda (flavored w/Splenda) Anyway, the plain ones are not bad; I polish off a bag a week

Thanks for the Ideas. I did find in a book today to combine 3oz cream cheese to 2 oz salsa for a pork rind dip. Someone else mentioned here also. I guess I will have to try it since I am addicted and don't want the extra sugar!

Do the seasoned ones have sugar? Im eating redmill ones and per 100g they have 1.6 grams of carbs and 0.2 of that is sugar. Am i ok to keep eating these?

Unfortunately they do. You need to make sure your purchasing the plain ones. Someone mentioned they buy the vinegar and salt flavor, I'm not sure if those have sugar. Just make sure your reading the ingredients.

Look at the ingredients. But my guess is sugar is one of them.

There are many brands that only contain :Pork Skin, Salt.
You can find them at any grocery store, Wal-Mart has them. It had brown writing on the front, I can't remember the name though. But I have seen many brands with the extra ingredients...(sugar on pork rinds? wth?) and I have seen many brands with just the 2 ingredients. Just put your label reading glasses on and you'll find em!
By the way, pork rinds are what got me this far !
