  • Tired? What up...will adding a vitamin help?

So this is the beginning of week three for me. I weighed myself last week and was down 9 pounds of my 27 pounds goal. I was 152 and weighed at 143.5. I'm don't weigh in until Friday, but I am getting tired.

I have also begun getting up earlier and going to the gym working out with weights three times a week and cardio five times a week.

Could I be tired because i'm losing too quickly, or because of working out and getting up earlier, or because I need a vitamin (if this is the case please reccomend one)

    Thanks

You did start eating your vegetables, right? But supplements are recommended for everyone doing Atkins. They are as much a part of doing Atkins properly as exercise is.

I take fish liver oil, Theragran, B-complex high potency, extra C. At least a good multi like Centrum Silver would be a good start. If you have the nerve, you might even try the Centrum liquid, I find a liquid vitamin gets in my system faster when I am depleted. It is a bit strong tasting, however, but it might really help your energy. Sublingual liquid B vitamins also work quickly, and can be found in drug stores under various names. It is a liquid you squirt under your tongue.

Finding the right supplements takes some work, but you can read all about them and get good recommendations starting on page 135. Much success to you!

There must be at least a bjillion factors that could be involved in any particular instance of tiredness you are experiencing. There is not likely to be a simple yes/no cookie cutter answer to this.

You must weigh what you know (such as is kind/degree/duration etc of this tiredness, known likely contributing factors (perchance, overworking, sleep deprivation, dehydration, illness, stress, deficiency of any particular essential nutients, etc. as you can apply to your situation)) and try eliminating suspected culprits. If nutrient deficiency is possible, as with the way you have been eating, a complete multi vitamin & mineral supplement (or combination) except iron unless you are known to be iron deficient may well improve your energy level. But if nothing logical works, or your condition is more serious please ask your doctor...

Another thing - try to get some of your day's veggies into every meal, and take full advantage of them up to the limit for your current phase. You should not try to starve yourself nor stay on induction all the way to goal.

Thank you both so much. I have a regular multivitamin that I will take. Some days I get my veggies, some days I don't to be honest. I will try to incorporate more in the form of salads and veggies to dip. I've also been up at 6:30 to get to the gym, then I work from 10Am to 9pm the last three days, but that will end soon. I really wish I was not so tired, expecially at about 4 pm. I will increase the veggies and add a vitamin and let you know.

        Thanks again : )
