  • Chest tightness

Just finishing off Induction, and have noticed, periodically, a chest tightness - similar to the feeling when you're getting over bronchitis.

My numbers are good: bp was 120/70, cholesterol is 126, and I am getting regular moderate exercise. Chest ex ray showed a very small (good) normal heart, and cardiac ct was also normal.

Just weird. There appears to be nothing wrong with me, but my chest is tight and aches a little sometimes lower-left, and it's only been in the two weeks since starting Induction. Has anyone else experienced this? Occasional mild dizziness as well.

    Re: Chest tightness

Good for you for listening to your body and having yourself checked out! Did you have any labs (blood work) done SPECIFICALLY to look for cardiac enzymes? (troponins, CK-MB, etc) Did you have an ECG done? X-rays and CTs are good for looking at size and densities but can't diagnose ischemia. Women can have very different symptoms than men when it comes to cardiology. It's likely nothing or something simple like a tiny pulled muscle or slight friction rub, but when it comes to the heart I generally feel it's better to be safe than sorry.
