It's supposed to rev up your metabolism, from what I've read ... use it in cooking (eggs cooked in it are extra yummy!)

Does the kind of coconut oil matter?

I believe any type of coconut oil works. In the past I've purchased mine at the health food store.

                Re: Coconut Oil ....

                Congratulations Sarah, that's fantastic news!!!!

We use to use coconut oil all the time but for some reason I got away from it.

Just a quick question...would someone have to wait till the nut rung to incorporate coconut oil...or can one incorporate it while in Induction as well as the next rung after Induction? Is there a rule of thumb specifically when one can start taking coconut oil?

                Thank you!

                        Re: Coconut Oil ....

Hey, speaking of healthy fats ... was cutting into a Florida avocado for lunch today and noticed a sticker on the fruit: "Lite! SlimCado!" A slimmed-down avocado ... were they kidding? No! Not that, as Atkineers, we're concerned with "lite" anything, but this one claims to have 35% fewer calories and 50% less fat, so I Googled "SlimCado" and this is what I came up with:
Melissa's Produce, Fruit & Vegetable Information *- Green Avocado (Slimcado)

So there's still plenty of those great, healthy fats AND lots of fiber AND it tasted great, rich and buttery like a California avocado (it's disloyal as a Floridian to say this, but regular Florida avocadoes are not nearly so yummy as their California brethren).

Don't know if this is just a regional offering, but if you like avocados and your store offers this version, I recommend it. Delish!

                          Re: Coconut Oil ....

Today I found pure coconut shreds - No sugar or sweetner. Are these legal during induction?

Not for induction but you can use them on the nuts/seeds rung of OWL
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
