  • The way we carry our pounds...

i was talking to a coworker about dieting .. One of my male co-workers says to me " how much weight are you trying to loose" i told him i just wanted to get to about 145 ish .. his response was " theres no way you weigh more then 145, my wife is way bigger then you and she only weighs 145" Well this was kinda funny cause iv seen his wife and shes more like 220-250ish ish ..shes obviously been fibbing a little to her hubby .. haha thats ok though

But when ever i tell people how much i weigh they are like "no way" or yeah right, you dont weigh THAT much ..

I guess my point to this is that we really shouldnt worry about the # on the scale so much because we all carry our pounds differently , and if we feel good and love the way we look then who cares about the # of pounds we weigh ..

I think its a good tool to some extent to reach for a certain weight range but im not gonna worry so much about the scale anymore ..

I used to carry 170 pounds well. Through years of yoyo dieting, that no longer holds true. So not only do we all carry our weight differently, but it's also subject to change!

290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!

I am a lot like you then. I carry my weight well. I may be 220 lbs but I only look to be about 180 or so since I am so tall. Not that I am complaining :P

People don't believe me if I tell them how much I weigh, now if I took my clothes off in front of them they would probably change their mind. When I say how much I want to lose they all say it's too much, but actually I could lose a lot more...I'm just trying to set realistic goals for myself now.

I think the way we dress also makes a big difference on how big we look. I could look like I weigh 200 pounds if I wanted just by wearing baggy clothes.

i always say that if i could add 3 inches of height to my midsection i'd be fine! i have no "middle" and regular cut pants hit me between my belly button and bra line and low cut jeans are just right....and are NOT low!

no one expects i weigh 143.....i am sure that at 220 i looked 220 but at 170-180 i dont think i looked it so much. i am fairly muscular and i have wide shoulders and LONG arms....unfortunately i carry my weight in that darn, way too short midsection.

Misplaced southerner, I am just like that. I have about a half inch of space inbetween my belly button and my bra line. I also have huge broad shoulders that still retain most of their muscle mass from growing up on a farm and being in the military. My trouble area is my trunk area. I have the hardest time finding pants.. I also have a large muscle mass in the rest of my body which the doctor says artificailly raises my weight. When I was in the army I weighed 160 lbs at 5'5'' and had a 19-20 % body fat, eventhough I was over my max weight by almost 20 lbs. Hopefully as I get closer to my goal weight and the belly fat starts to come off I will start to lose the perpetual pregnant look.

I'm built like a Weeble ... bottom heavy to the max; BIG bubble butt and huge meaty thighs :P Anything above 150 lbs. and I look like a bowling pin. And even though I gained bazooms with the weight, everything else got bigger, too ... so, proportion-wise ... I was right back where I started = a Weeble with knockers

Now that I'm losing (from the top down) the boobs are deflating rapidly, but I still have plenty of junk in my trunk What the heck ... even when I was a toothpick with hair (way back in the day), I always had the bubble ... and always will And stumpy legs! And a long waist ... I think I was supposed to be about 5'10" and God got distracted halfway through the job ... a tall gal from the hips up; a runt from there on down

Re: The way we carry our pounds...

                hey all,

people are always amazed when they find out how much i weigh, but i have given up trying to weigh myself as i dont beleive that the numbers are beneficial to us.

I used to be the person who ran into the bathroom every morning to see what the scales said, if it was a number i wasnt happy with it would change my mood for the entire day. This surely cant be a helathy way to behave?!!!

the most important thing for your helath and your mental health is to be comfortable in who you are and to feel happy in your own skin, if that means changing the way that you eat for a while then so be it. we are slaves to numbers, but what are they? theyre just numbers!

I'm another one who people seem suprised about my weight - I think exercise and muscle mass has a lot to do with this.

My ideal weight is 150lbs or something on some charts - frankly laughable.
