  • If you fall off and cheat....

    even if only cheat once do you start induction all over again or stay at the rung of OWL you are at when you fell? Time marches on and I've fallen off this WOE a few times but keep trying to get up and stay in the saddle.

    I had a successful induction, staying legal and no cheats what so ever but I've had, at the most, an evening of cheats. Biiiiiiig cheats but of short duration. I went out of visible stix ketosis as soon as I went up to rung 1 of OWL. Kept losing slowly though.

    Dr. Atkins says in the OWL section you CAN go back into induction for a few days, to pick things back up.

      As what Boonie said. If you fall off OWL, you pick up where you left off or you can drop to Induction level carbs for a few days to get back into ketosis, then back to where you left off.

      I'm concerned that you stopped registering on the ketostix after you added 5 net carbs of Induction vegetables to your menu. See, the stix will measure for most people until about 40-50 net carbs daily. Then the stix might stop turning.

      So, I have to ask you, when you did add 5 net carbs of Induction vegetables to your menu, what did you add and were you measuring and counting those 5 net carbs properly? In fact, post your OWL Rung 1 menu for review.

        Even at 20 carbs a day I registered only a trace on the keto sticks but I lost well during induction...12 lbs! Up five veggie carbs and no pink!

        My son is eating on this WOE with me and we are doing our menus together and doing Fitday together too, following the book. It's become a coffee table book is is referred to often. He is dark purple on his sticks.

          If you have been losing weight, then I wouldn't worry about it. The ketostix measure "excess" ketones that you have in your body. Our bodies can use ketones for energy. So you might just be using what you are making, so you don't have any excess to pee out.
