  • Weekend is upon us...

What are your plans for the weekend? Do you have an idea of what you are going to be eating already?

Is everyone going to stick on the program or is Monday going to be a bunch of posts with "I messed up" in the titles?

I always have a hard time getting my water down on the weekends...so I'm making a conscious effort to make sure I drink enough.

I'll be eating induction friendly pizza for dinner tomorrow, and Sunday I will most likely make beefteki (I posted it in the recipe section) with a greek salad!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

One of my plans is to eat a muffin-in-a-minit while the others eat birthday cake for stepdaughter's 13th birthday. Maybe I'll make that beefteki too... and I still have fresh thyme!

I use the oopsie roll recipe and use that as the crust, lay on my toppings & cheese and pop it under the broiler for a few minutes...that's it!

Tomorrow I am going to roast a chicken which should feed hubby and me for a couple days. Along with that we'll have griloled zuchinni, and greek salad.

Tonight I'm going Christmas shopping and then out to dinner at a steak place. I've already planned my meal from their website. Tomorrow, we have a Halloween party from 3-5 and then I'm taking my little girl Trick-or-Treating from 6-8 and then a pizza party after. I'll probably get some buffalo wings instead of the pizza. I do think it's going to be hard to resist all of the treats this weekend, but I know I will. Sunday is another Halloween party and I'm not sure of the food options yet, but if there's nothing low carb available, I just wait until I get home to eat.

Wow Widget, I admire you ... you're all ready starting x-mas shopping? I usually wait until 2 weeks before ... I always says I'm going to start early .. but I never do. Where do you go Trick-or-Treating a week early? Usually people in my neighborhood are buying candy the day of Halloween.

Have fun shopping and a wonderful weekend to all.

                  Re: Weekend is upon us...

Weekends are the time I cook food for the rest of the week. This weekend, I'll be roasting a turkey breast (on sale at the supermarket at 99 cents per pound, plus I had a dollar off coupon.) So tonight, I'll have a turkey supper. I'll use the turkey bones to make a broth and freeze that for turkey soup later in the winter. The rest of the turkey meat I'll use for hot turkey salad, a hot Brown sandwich, etc. for lunch and supper this week.

I'll probably cook some chili tomorrow.

I always shop early for Christmas thinking I'll be done early, but I think I usually just end up buying more than I would if I started in November or December. I live in Ohio and our Trick-or-Treat is always the Saturday before the 31st, unless the 31st happens to be a Saturday.

How interesting, any idea why the do it like that? I've never heard of that before!

Sadie, I have no idea why they do it like that. I'm guessing they figure it's better on a weekend rather than a week night for kids who have to get up for school and parents for work. It's always been like that and I've lived here 25 years.
