Re: do you atkins when you are sick?
You sound as if you find this w.o.e. to be a sort of burden and then think it's sensible to take it off your shoulders while you're sick. If you REALLY want to follow Atkins for life (which is how Atkins is supposed to be followed) and not for X weeks, then you found a really bad excuse for cheating. There are plenty of recipes that don't have meat in them. You can make soups, flax sandwiches, meatless casseroles, salads, cheese/flax crackers, quiches, etc. I've gone days without eating meat and I promise you nothing bad happens (no stall in weight loss, no low energy).
And anyway, do you think a bowl of cereals, some potatoes, a wheat sandwich or a Snickers bar will alleviate your symptoms? Nope, they are just rewards, sugar you put into your body to tell it 'There you go dear, you're so sick poor you. Have some sugar, it'll make you happier.' Unless you have some serious condition or follow some special treatment, I believe sickness is not an excuse for cheating.
In case you didn't know about it, here's the link to Linda's website. It has a lot of nice recipes, with and without meat.

My advice would be to prepare something 'legal' to eat and to make sure you drink enough water. Good luck staying on track!

I was just going to say that nothing tastes better when your feeling sick than a nice bowl of homemade chicken or vegetable soup...
How easy is it to follow when your sick?? Pretty darn easy if you ask me!
