  • How do you deal with stress?

I've been so stressed out by work, especially the last 2 weeks. I also sprained my foot (GREAT). I've done pretty well sticking to this WOE and trying to get exercise. However, last night I crashed and cheated at dinner. I know that it was total stress eating. Now I feel horrible.

What do you do to best relieve stress?

Re: How do you deal with stress?

When I'm feeling stressed, I take a "me" time out and I relax by doing something that I can forget about my stressors, like soaking in a tub of water, window shopping, curling up in a nice comfy blanket on a nice comfy sofa and reading or napping, etc. Sometimes I go for on a bike ride or I drive through the countryside---some kind of change of scenery that helps clear my mind and refreshes it.

I also do something that I really enjoy & will help get me in a different mind set. For me it is going into my sewing room & working on a project while of course listening to 80's music!!

I've just discovered running and I think I'm slowly becoming addicted to it. So when I feel that my cannibalistic instincts are about to emerge and put my roommate in danger (I wonder if she has carbs...) I go out for a run.

Otherwise I hula hoop while watching a movie, read something for school (I was never able to eat and study in the same time, so that's good), or come on the board.

These are great stress relievers. I hit the same point about a month ago and got a variety of ideas from ADBB-ers:

            Have a restful weekend!

I go for a walk with the dogs. Their antics always make me laugh and the stress is gone!
