good morning to all of my atkins people, i just finished making the one minute muffin this morning for breakfast i was wondering if anyone knew who many carbs are in this muffin it was very good ,but i don't even know if it is .k for induction?
Flax has a limit during Induction. Make sure the muffin is within the Induction limits. If you aren't sure what that limit is, check the sticky in the 14 Day Induction forum called "FLAX and FIBER use during Induction".
The answer to this in on a couple of pages in the book, but can be read differently by some.
One TBsp of flax meal (or psyllium husks, read page 76) in induction is recommended to prevent constipation. So you should have a TBSP every day if your system is fine, no constipation problems. The way I read the Dr., on page 124 it states that if you areconstipated, use a TBSP or more, read the rule 12. It says 'tbsp or more' specifically for psyllium, but then mentions flax also, and I feel sure the 'or more' also applies. After all, 1 TBSP is the preventative dose, it would only make sense for 1 or more to be the therapeutic dose. So if you are constipated, you may have more than 1 TBSP and still be quite legal. Don't overdo, too much fiber can backfire.
The 'muffin' usually contains about 3, I believe. Too much if you are not constipated, but if you are, should be fine.
Yes, and of course if you make version with 2 or three tbsp, and don't need that much fiber, a half of the muffin is pretty satisfying with cream cheese and you can easily save the other half for another day.
