  • 3 questions from a newbie...

Hi! I started AD on 10/15/08.. and still going strong.
    1. I know Induction is for 2 weeks. At what point should I start going to the OWL phase?
    2. When possible, I like to work out first thing in the morning. The last few times I've worked out like this, I started noticing I'm getting light-headed during my aerobics class. What can I eat before class (but something that won't "slosh" around in my stomach while I do leg lifts and high kicks?)
    3. During my AD, am I allowed to cheat 1x/month? Will this slow me down significantly? IS this allowed?

    Well done so far

You can move to OWL as soon as you have finished the 2 weeks on induction.

maybe a small snack like a couple of boiled eggs, slice of crustless quiche or meat/cheese rollups with a few cherry tomatoes?

The Atkins way of eating does not include a special 'cheat day/meal' in the regime. Of course, as adults we can 'allow' ourselves to eat anything we want, but we are also able to choose not to allow any off-plan choices

It would be entirely up to your body as to how eating off-plan would affect your weightlosses. It could slow losses or even mean you found you could not get back onto the plan in the worst-case scenario!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

      Thank you Elizellen!
Regarding the OWL phase... I've heard of ADers to do an extended Induction before going to OWL.
AS a successful ADer, looking at my current and goal weight, when do you think would be the best time to start OWL?

You are not that heavy, it is usually the folks with a good few more pounds to lose than you have that need to extend induction. OWL is cool, reach the nut rung and you can have a few almonds before your workout, to me that is the perfect pre workout food, no sloshing! A stick of string cheese works too.

PS... I have a stuffy nose too. I hope you feel better soon! We turned on our heater for the first time the other day.. I think that is the culprit!
