  • low carb tortilla

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has had any of the low carb tortillas that are out there. I have seen one small tortilla with 4 net carbs and a huge dinner size plate tortilla with 8 net carbs. Each has a ton of fiber 10-15 grams. The brand that I was looking at is mission tortilla. I really miss wrapping eerything up in a tortilla- I learned in the army that as long as you have a giant tortilla you can eat almost anything on the go, spaghetti, stew, hotdish, meat and gravy, you name it. I'm looking to add in 1-2 tortillas/week with either breakfast or a chicken/spinach/salsa wrap. any input would be appreciated. thanks

    Re: low carb tortilla

There are a number of low carb tortillas--frankly, I think their taste is somewhere between cardboard and styrofoam.

But due to their ingredients, they aren't allowed on the Diet until the Grains Rung of OWL Phase (which is a blessing in disguise because some of them look like they taste, imo.)

I'm not a fan of them either. They taste awful and they always stalled me.

NO NO NO!!! Wait- I started buying them- I found some with only 3 net carbs! They have really opened up my meal options- I really like them. I'll do sandwich like meals, tacos, quesadillas, I even fried them and made chips!!! They haven't stalled me a bit!

I really think you should try them for yourself- we are all different. We have different tastes in flavors, and our bodies respond differently to new foods.

Try them, and you be the judge!!!

But do check the ingredients!! As far as I know most have some grains or at least soy flour in them so would not be 'legal' till the later OWL rungs.

Some members have had success making wraps using the revolution roll recipe or even making thin omelettes to use.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I went to El Chico in Texas a few weeks ago and they had a huge low-carb menu. I ordered Fajitas and I was giddy about having such a wonderful meal. The smaller tortillas had 3 or 5 net carbs and I had three of them (I am at the grain rung btw). I lost weight that weekend and stayed in ketosis. The tortillas were OK. They were a bit chewy but just being able to eat a fajita was wonderful.
