    I really want a Pizza

I really, really, really am thinking about ordering a thin and crispy pizza!!!! I looked up the nutrition facts (21 carbs avg, per slice) I'm on OWL- so I don't think I should risk it and gain a couple lbs as a result.

Sometime (very seldom) I get tired of our options and I want a taste of something I used to enjoy before. Boo-hoo!!!!!

Re: I really want a Pizza

When everyone else in my family has pizza, I make myself a pizza casserole. I take my favorite meat and veggie toppings and mix them together in a big soup mug or small casserole dish. I mix in a little tomato sauce and top it with mozzarella cheese. Then I bake it until everything is warm and the cheese melts. My favorite is pepperoni, sausage, bacon, green pepper and onion.

All of the great pizza flavor. None of the guilt.

I make myself a pizza using LC tortillas. Layer two LC tortillas w/ cheese in between, then top as usual, bake until crisp and bubbly. Even my family loves this.

Just a heads up, even low carb tortillas arent allowed on Atkins until the very last rung, grains.
I absolutely love the cauliflower pizza and amazingly so do my two young kids and pizza loving husband... its amazing! I dont even miss the old kind and thats the honest truth!

I make the cauliflower pizza every Friday night. TONIGHT! Yummm.....My family loves it too. Make sure you use sugar free sauce. Not the Bertolli..it has carrot concentrate in it and will knock you out of ketosis in one serving. It happened to me already
You can find some great brands in the organic section like Seeds of change marinara..so good!

Wow - that sounds lovely! Will definitely be trying that.
I have been known to order a pizza (in a restaurant) and just eat the toppings - you really get the flavour without the carbs. If you are at home though, it would be better to make one of the recipes suggested as you know exactly what's in it x

You can make a pizzza base from one of the recipes around for a 'bread-like' substitute like the revolution rolls which would be 'legal' for induction. The lowcarb tortillas still are made from wheat I think which would make them 'acceptable' on the last OWL rung (whole grains) or if made from soy flour the legumes rung (#6)
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
