The only things allowed on induction are the foods listed on the acceptable foods list.

Going cold turkey really *is* the best way to handle the cravings, and then they go away.

Going cold turkey IS the best way, seconding what Lyssie said.

My problem is salty, crunchy stuff - potato chips, Nacho Cheese Doritos, cheese crackers, pretzels, taco chips and salsa - baked goods (I miss bagels something fierce) - and starches (Potatoes in any form, I just loved 'em).

I haven't had any of those since I started Induction - if I cheated a little bit with any of those - I know I wouldn't have stuck with the plan. Those things are too powerful for me right now.

I know how you feel. I reeaaalllyy reeaaallyy want pizza, or any other pasta right now. Its soo hard, but I think its gettting a little easier now. I still have moments when I really want something ,but those are lasting a shorter time now.

There are low carb pizza recipes out there which are Induction friendly. As for pastas, spaghetti squash is an acceptable veggie for Induction and it's currently in season. It will give you a "noodle" like food to eat.

I had one.. its is sweetened with splenda I think and I just counted the carbs toward my limit for the day. I was craving something chocolate something bad and this hit the spot without me going off plan. I even topped it with whip cream. I think it has 4carbs. after I drank it.. I didn't have another craving for it.

Read the ingredients to the beverage. Most "instant chocolate milk mixes" contain milk---which is not permitted during Induction phase.

Thanks, I had seen some recipes for types of pizza's but wasn't sure if it was acceptable for Induction. As for the squash noodles, do they come pre - noodled? Or do we have to make it into a noodle ourselves? Not sure if I have time for that, as I am a full time student in graduate school. But otherwise, I would like to try some of the pizza's reciepes, so thank you !

I've never seen squash noodles pre-noodled, but it doesn't take that long. I have been able to cook Atkins-friendly while holding a full-time job, and a full-time course load. A lot of the recipes are really quick and easy.

                      Re: Diet SwissMiss

I've never made noodles before, so this would be an experience for me. I also am renting a room in someone's condo, while I'm in school. I sometimes try to avoid going out to use the kitchen, b/c if I meet the lady I am renting from. It becomes very hard to leave, as she talks a LOT, and has a very annoying dog that jumps on me whenever she is there. When she is gone, he just sits in a chair. So I've been trying to make most of my foods on the weekend when I am home with my Fiancee. But it is sometimes difficult. So I may look for a receipes and try it over one of my breaks and I am back in My kitchen.
