  • Stuggling to get out of this rut!

I lost like 6 lbs during induction and then moved on to OWL. Since then I just can't seem to keep things 'moving' on the scale OR measurements! But it's not from adding the extra carbs as part of the plan, I'm pretty sure it comes from little cheats here and there. I've gotten into this horrible habit of letting myself sneak a little cheat here and there and it just must add up and totally throw me out of whack.

I do FANTASTIC during most of the day...but come evening....another story. I'll sneak a chocolate...or half a roll...or a couple drinks...or a nibble of noodles.... UGH. It's hard not to have those temptations there since my husband and kids CAN have them.

My weight is back up and I think that that plus no change in measurements is discouraging and adds to my lack of ability to not let myself sneak things. Just needed to vent. I haven't given up...I'm still trying...

Are you eating enough during the day? Sometimes that kind of actions come from the fact that you are depriving yourself by limiting real and healthy food. Just a thought
Wish you luck cleaning it all up.

Re: Stuggling to get out of this rut!

One of our members said that what kept her from sneaking those bites here and there was to tell herself that if she really could not resist, she could allow herself to eat them BUT she had to eat them naked in front of a full length mirror!!

Just the thought was enough to make her change her mind and eat something 'legal' instead.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I did pretty well over the weekend. I kept the thought in my mind of doing it in front of a mirror and that worked! I once stuck something in my mouth I shouldn't have and ended up spitting it into the trash can.

I am eating plenty during the day for sure, though.

Well, this is what I do when the thought of cheating comes to mind:

I grab a roll on my stomach! Or touch my thighs or jiggle my arm flab.

Needless to say I have never cheated once.

Re: Stuggling to get out of this rut!

I was so horribly crushed by the traditional low-fat high carb diet gain in weight that on Atkins, it's really hard for me to cheat - I'm terrified of going back and undoing all this work!

Do you think you might be night-nibbling out of boredom? I find that is a big reason I do it on occasion.
