I assume everything is legal, although someone with better chemistry skills should give his/her opinion on this... but you cannot count it towards your water.

Also, it does have sweetener in it, so you are allowed a maximum of 3 servings (usually 1 serving = 8 oz) assuming you don't have any other serving of sweetener in the day.

So you're saying it doesn't count because of the sucralose in there? Darnit. It's the only "water" I've ever liked!!

I used to drink maximum 8 oz of water a day before starting Atkins. Now I drink over 200 oz. You'll start loving water after the first few days. And by water, I mean regular, simple water.

Also, what I forgot to add previously, carbonated drinks (soda stuff) are stallers for a lot of people. Better have a clean induction and get awesome results after the first two weeks!

Ekk.. I don't know about that. I'm already grumpy enough. My husband may divorce me if I diet (detox) and detox from soda at the same time. I'll just have to wean the soda out, I guess.

MomtoCarli - honestly you will - I never drank water - never - was a 6 cans of diet coke and a bottle of wine a day girl. Now I cannot get enough of the water stuff! You find yourself more and more wanting it!

The first couple of days are hard, but no pain no gain and it does get better, in fact it gets amazingly better! You will feel so great.

You will thank yourself for the clean induction!

            Good luck

It's trading soda for a healthier, sexier you. I'm sure he'll love it.

In a few days you'll have a lot of energy and you won't feel "grumpy" anymore. It takes a little time to get into the groove of things, but this is the easiest way of eating (not to 'diet') that one can follow. Jazz up your menu, don't stick to fad foods. There are so many tasty meals you can have on Atkins, even for induction. For most of them you wouldn't even say they are low carb (you can trick your husband with this ).

Did you check Linda's website? It also has pictures for almost all recipes. Just reading them makes your mouth watery!

Okay - I wiill work in my 2 liters of water. (That's about how much I need, right?)

Six soda a day and a bottle of wine sounds about right.. I'm going to miss my wine.

hahaha. I just realized I'm replying to the same person.

The minimum is 2 liters, that's right. However, some say you should drink 64 oz PLUS 8 oz for every 25 lbs of extra weight. If, for example, you weight 160 lbs and your ideal weight is 120, then you should drink around 77 oz.

Someone once said, "It's not water if you can't wash your sweater in it."

That said, drinking Tide does not count as water.

Oh, now that you have a signature... so you have 80 lbs to lose. This means
                      WATER = 64 + 8*80/25 = 89.6 oz
Don't freak out about the number, it's not so difficult to reach it. Take a 1 liter bottle and have it with you all the time. When you are tempted to cheat, drink water. When you are bored or work on your computer, drink water. The numbers add up faster than you'd think if the only thing you can drink is water.

In the beginning, if you just can't make it with ~90 oz, try to drink at least 64. The more the better though.

I used to hate water.. as in, would never drink it. Now I rarely drink soda.

I see Georgiana is answering the equation question so I won't.

Sure. So you have 80 lbs to lose, right? And you have to drink 64 oz of water as a base, plus 1 glass (or 8 oz) for every extra 25 lbs.

Ok, so you have to see how many extra 25 lbs you have, and you do this by dividing 80 to 25, so
                              80/25 = 3.2
This means that you have to drink 3.2 glasses of water above the minimum 64 oz. As a glass is considered to have 8 oz, this means
                              3.2*8 = 25.6 oz
                              So in total you have
                              64+25.6 = 89.6
                              which is approximately 90 oz.
