  • Time to reach out for help....

    Hey All,
I Hope I am posting this call for help in the right place....

I have been doing the plan since early june, and I love every day of my chosen lifestyle!
The concerns I am having are my stalls...

I basically went from a stagnant couch potato, starting induction and trying to work out 10 mins a day,
To where I am today, 50 pounds down and exercising 2-3 hours a day
for 4 or more days a week. The first 16 pounds melted fairly quickly.
It's the last 34 pounds that have been the fight of my life. Which I could understand, if this was "The Biggest Loser" sort of program, but it's not.

In all cases, 2 weeks or more will pass and the scale has not moved--nothing--then I may drop a few, then it's 2 or more weeks of nothing. Then maybe a few more.
I think I'm missing something? or is it my "Young" Age? LOL

    1. I have slowly climbed rungs, nothing major and count every carb
    2. With weight lose did come "portion control" but still carefull about veggie's and proteins.
    3. Water, constipation, supplements, all perfect and no problem
    4. Exercise is at a point where i will pace if I don't get my workout in for the day.
    5. There has been so much good I hated to ask for more. High alertness,
10 inch's off my waist, Sleeping better, Stronger and Faster than I was 10 years ago. The last over 2 months tho-- I've been grinding out every ounce and every 1/4 inch.

    Age?
    Not enough fat consumtion?
Start working out like the "biggest losers"?

ANY and I mean ANY Advice I recieve will be so welcome!
    Thanx for you time

    Best Regards

Wow! 50 pounds lost and 10 inches off your waist! Please don't lose sight of what you have achieved and how far you have come. I know it may sound like a silly question but are you sure you need to lose more? It could be that you are very close to where you should be weight wise now that you are exercising so much?

How do I put this gently......Are you Nuts? 50 pounds in 5 months is Awesome..Come Here... Big old (((((((hug)))))))))
You should be celebrating your success.
Are you measuring yourself ? With all those workouts I bet you have acheived lean muscle mass and that weighs more than the fat...right?

        LOL!!
        Thank you
I am not "Down" Or "upset"
Yes I have lost in my legs and arms (The Tape is my best friend!)
to the point where there is no more to burn or pinch--just building strong muscle at this point.
I still have a ponch and I am going by my doctor's goal of 200.( which he supplied no clue how to get there!) For my age and hieght, I could go as much as 185, but he wants to do another complete physical first.
The excess weight is in my upper body for sure

Maybe I need to focus more of my workouts to this general area?
Jogging and Biking are my prime choice for working out.
But again I am back at working out to achive the goal....

        You are all Awesome!!!

Im glad you have a good sense of Humor. Welcome to the board. There are so many great people here...Read alot, Post often and you will not be disappointed. As for the Ponch it sounds like you have it all under control and are doing what you need to....very Inspiring. In fact I am going to pull myself away from the puter and go do my crunches.

I have found that if I am not eating enough - I stall out. When i get stressed i am very all or nothing. You listed fat intake...may it's too low? How are your ratio's? Are you at the 65/30/5 fat/protien/carbs??? Too much protien can convert to excess sugar....maybe your balance is off a bit.

You've done an awesome job! like the others said don't loose sight. I focus on my nutrition, try some new recipes and postpone a weigh in for two weeks to get me out of a rut. (mental or physical)

Re: Time to reach out for help....

              Thanks for the kind words!

I'm doing great? Look at you! Awesome! Your success is providing inspiration and motivation to all of us!

              and:
I think your right...Need to add fat back into the diet more,
I will stay with boneless skinless, Trimmed Red meats, and other lean cuts of meats as well as my portion control-----
              BUT
This time I will make Carb friendly sauces and sides with butter/cream/oil type sauces to make up the missing fat.
I will double my efforts to keep at 65/30/5

I won't lose sight! This WOE and WOL is to outstanding a lifestyle.

Good for you! (and thank you for the kudos my way). I almost threw the towel in when i was about 30lbs down. Success is sweet, don't get bogged down day to day. Life isn't just about the race -it's about the journey. I am always thinking ahead and I have to remind myself to live in the moment. Looking forward to seeing your next success post! you WILL get there!!

Re: Time to reach out for help....

Maybe you need to get your bodyfat measured, Bill? Many people post that they are slimmer at a higher weight than previously and wearing smaller sized clothes, as Atkins seems to help us lose fat and add muscle which takes up less room although it weighs the same.

One of our members (can't remember who) found when she had her body fat measured professionally that she had already met her goal body fat percentage and if she lost any more weight would be straying into the underweight category.

So you might need to adjust your goal weight upwards.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

                      Thank You for the responce!
took me a while to see my doc, But it's not an adjustment upwards( of my goal weight) that I need to make.
I hope to find the answer in 65/30/5 percentages. I now believe I need to match my "now" age, my "now" weight and my "now" Activity level : to my calorie intake a day also. To make sure all is even!
