    Re: Bathroom question

Hi. It talks about this in the book, for when you are on Induction. Seeds and nuts, fruits, beans, all these things have the fiber we can benefit from for this, but you cant have it in Induction, so it is common to have to supplement. There is an article in the book on it called "Fiber : A Form of Carbohydrate". In my book, it is pp 75 - 6. If you can find it, it is a really good read on how much and why of supplements you need. Good luck!!!!

      Re: Bathroom question

Oh, let me tell you, I have definitely experienced this lol. It's because we arn't eating all those carbs anymore that usually keep us regular. I suggest psyllium husks or a couple tbsp of flax meal to help keep regular. I don't have either, so I use a typical vegetable laxative (which I hate!)

well i know that i for one have been going through the constipation thing for quite a while now ,i'm allergic to flax meal so i definetely can't use that, so i started using senokot which is a laxative i use it once a week, but i really hate being constipated before i started atkins i was pretty normal ,but now my body is completely out of whack!! but i don't regret doing atkins,i just really wish the whole constipation thing just goes away

I have been eating half an avocado a day; as well as the CVS store brand fiber supplement which is ground psyllium husks. I am as regular as can be with no stalls (yet). Water intake is huge as well. I drink about a gallon a day. I am a big guy so thats not excessive. I hope this helps and good luck!

            Re: Bathroom question

That's the thing, I am taking a fiber/calcium supplement, and I am not constipated at all. But I just don't go as often as I usually go. I guess that's how my body is supposed to opperate??

              Totally normal...and think about it.
Normally I would eat food thats just rubbish...hardly any nutritional value...so theres much more waste to come back out!

Make yourself a delicious healthy stir fry with lots of lovely chilli powder to keep your insides active.
Turkey, peppers, courgettes, mushrooms, prawns, chilli, garlic, dash of soy sauce. Its a taste explosion and so good for you.

                  Re: Bathroom question

I find that as long as I drink a ton of water and exercise at least 4 time/week I don't have any problems. But if I cut my water intake or cut out my exercise, i pay the price.

                    Re: Bathroom question

                    Hello,
You've had some great advice here.
I use to have the same thing going on with me. Untill I added a good Pro-Biotic to my supplements. It will guarantee a healthy flora in your digestive tract. It has made a world of difference for me.
Also Traditional Medicinal Smooth Move Tea is another great tool to get things moving on a regular basis.
I agree with MommaRuthie, Plenty of water (nothing replaces water) and regular exercise is very helpful to keeping regular. I see you're already taking fiber. My fiber of choice is flaxmeal.
It's not uncommon to not go everyday doing low-carb. Or even as much everyday, as far as that goes.
Presidentholmes is right about it being all the rubbish we once ate. Actually putting our system in termoil.
This too is just one of the changes that low carb does to our bodies.
Wishing you the best of health and lite.
                    Sincerely, Sherri
