  • Is kg a more accurate weight measurement?

    First of all I am so sorry if this is not in the right place, but I did search I promise

    Anyway, my problem is that I'm losing weight when my scales are set to weigh in kg, but when I set them to weigh in stone (UK weight... 1 stone is 14lbs) my weight wavers but then goes back to my weight 6 days ago when in kg I've lost 2.7kg (which is 6lbs) since then.

    I most likely need some new scales even though these are fairly new, but does anyone else or has anyone else had/have this problem? Would you say to weigh in kg is generally more accurate?

    Thanks ladies and gents

    SW = 178 lbs
    CW = 162 lbs
    GW = 115 lbs

    16 lbs lost and 47 lbs to go!

    I don't find KG more accurate really. I would recommend a digital scale. Tesco's sell the one I got, it's a Weight Watchers one, and you can set it to LBS, ST or KG.

    I always weigh myself in LBS because it's easier to control, and on mine, it shows you the full measurement (eg. 173.4 lbs) and there's an option for it to track all your weighing in measurements.

    Also make sure you're only weighing in once a week, and at the same time of day roughly. All of those things can contribute to differing weights

      Well in kg scales they give smaller units of measurement say in 0.1 of a kilo so its easier to tell if you have lost or gained the slightest weight

        I would say go with the kilos if the scales give you a 0.1 graduation, as losing 0.1 kilos (100 grams/3.5 ounces) is a good visual difference!
