  • I lost my wife today

My wife couldn't handle atkins lifestyle. After two days on the Atkins, she has gave up on it. It is hard the first few days and not everybody is right for Atkins. She can lose the weight some other way. She really dont have that much to lose, but tries to hard and quits. She will still support me on Atkins. I am still hanging in there and hope to reach a mini goal in a couple of weeks. Stay strong fat brothers and sisters.

Biggorilla! I was so worried when I read the title of this thread! I thought you'd really lost lost her! Phew!

Now that that's over with! I'm sorry she didn't want to stick with Atkins but good for you for staying strong with it even without her doing it too! And maybe after she sees your progress she will want to jump back on the wagon! You will be hitting your mini goals in no time!

My wife does the low calorie/low fat thing. I eat my way, she eats her way.
It's cool as long as you support each other!

Okay, the title got me too!
I’m sorry to hear that she is no longer in this with you. My hubby and I started out strong and he has since fell off the wagon and it’s been so tough without him; Tough-but not impossible. I wish you great success and hopefully she’ll see you shrinking, enjoy the good low carb foods you will be eating and she’ll be inclined to jump back in.

          Biggorilla,
I too was worried when i saw the title. Glad she is trully ok.
Just from personal experience, you can't make your wife do it. This is something that she is going to have to want to do herself.
Though, maybe she will be inspired by your exellent choice to keep with atkins, and someday join you.
          Stay strong!

the title really does catch your eye, the first few days are the toughest. This is my day 3, my partner isn't doing any diet and he was eating cakes before and almost shoved it down my mouth, but i was strong and resisted i think it would be great with your partners support but dont use that as a excuse to cheat.

Re: I lost my wife today

My only suggestion would be to keep a seperate cabinet with your foods in it, so every time you open the door you aren't tempted by carb rich items your wife may have in there. I have my own little cabinet with nuts, seeds, pork rinds and atkins friendly snacks. It helps me to cope better with a spouse who eats the things I am unable to!

Man, I got scared for a second! I was really worried you lost your wife! Anyway, I am on day 3 and my husband is following me in my new life style. I am sure he will fall off before me. He normally loses TONS of weight really fast, then has to stop dieting because he loses too much weight. I wish you success!!!

Guess you freaked us all out ... glad you're not a widower, after all! Well, we all must find our own path ... whatever works. I wish I could get my husband on Atkins; sure would be easier for me ... and healthier for him.

Re: I lost my wife today

Yeah, you definately had everyone worried that your wife had died, and that you were going to tell us that you just couldn't handle being on the plan during your loss!! Ha!! (like we were going to tell you stick to it, deal with it) Ha! Glad she's still with you, even though not on our WOE. My DH falls off the wagon two or three days into it, and then still eats what I eat plus his white devil carb food! I try to explain you can't do that, and that there is no difference in his eating than how I was eating to get fat! Will power comes in different attitudes, and he doesn't have it. He has never stuck to any plan. I feel that is unfortunate because I am getting skinny and leaving him behind in the fat lane. I am experiencing some new jealous tendencies that he never used to have before now. Humph.... So hopefully your wife will find some sort of plan that she is comfortable with and support you wholeheartedly even if she doesn't partake in you WOE. Good luck to you, and stick to it, it is worth it in the long run, and you do it for "YOU" anyways right?
