Is there anywho located in TEXAS?
If so, where? Just curious. What makes it hard to stay on atkins where you live?

I am located in the Dallas/Ft Worth area.
The one thing about my area is all the ethnic foods,
(i.e. mexican, asian, italian etc etc) I have a weakness for
pizza on the weekends and white wine. I know I know bad, Alyssa.

I'm in Rochester, NY. What makes it hard for me is all of the great pizza joints around here.

      Re: Texas

I just moved from Texas about six months ago! The hardest thing there were tortilla chips at Tex Mex places---but yummy fajitas made up for it.

Out here in DC, the only food people really cling to are cupcakes, an those are pretty easy for me to resist.

I am in Fort Worth. My husband loves On the Border. Watching him eat the chips and salsa is HARD. But i have resisted since July. I echo the fajitas make up for it.

Fajitas! Hmmm. Are the flour tortillas low carb?

I make sure they do not bring the tortillas. They are perfect without it

Yup, I'd just order the fajitas without the tortillas. And, we get to eat guacamole and sour cream with them!

Ooh, I can never find good Mexican food here and I miss it so much! I'm going to visit my parents in Atlanta over Christmas and my mouth waters just thinking about fajitas (minus the tortilla of course!). But I think if I had to deal with resisting tortilla chips very often I would have a hard time!

What makes it hard for me is this outstanding bakery beside my office that everyone at work goes to for breakfast, lunch and snacks! Sometimes I stop in to bring my bf something yummy. I've got to say though- at first it was really hard to resist that place for myself but now I just see it as whole room full of bad, unhealthy things I don't even want!

It's not great, Alyssa! Just make sure that the very next bite to go into your mouth is on plan and stay more strict with yourself. If you're craving pizza it is better to go no crust and just have the toppings! I've made a few very tasty "pizzas" by melting cheese in a frying pan until it is crispy on the bottom and putting yummy toppings on it like pepperoni and peppers.

I have tried the cauliflower pizza. It is great and it is induction legal.

                        Re: Texas

I'm in the DFW area. The only obstacle for me is my family (lol) which aren't low carb so I have to watch them eat stuff I don't or buy stuff for them that I can't eat. As long as I'm doing good and cheat free I'm fine! The second I cheat its like a runaway train. So I can't cheat!!!!

I made the cauliflower pizza a few nights ago its great for left overs as well. I have made it a bunch of times. Pizza was NEVER a weakness for me pre low carb, now I crave it more than anything so odd. I love mexican food as well. I try just to make legal things here. It is really hard to go to On The Border (one of my faves) and not eat the chips and stuff.

Those of us around the DFW area should meet up...we could do a walk or something. Just a thought
