  • ketosis sticks

    my sticks only turn slightly pink. i drink a ton of water. could this make that happen? i am following induction to a tee. i see other people turning purple. that has never happened to me.

    Its not going to be because of water. It has a lot to do with when you test. If you test after a "fasting" period (which is usually after a nights sleep) you will most likely show no color in the sticks. I find that if my fat intake gets too low I will also show little to no reading. It could also be as simple as underestimating your carb intake. Remember that pink or purple its all ketosis. From what I understand ketosis is like being pregnant, you either are or you aren't. I only use the sticks now a couple of hours after a "questionable" meal to see if I am on point. So I probably use one or two a week. I hope this helps. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

      Just as Rob says, it doesn't matter if it is pink or purple- you are still in ketosis so woo hoo!! If you are drinking lots and lots of water it will probably never turn dark purple, don't worry yourself about it, especially if you are still pink. There are some people here who never even turn the stick pink (perhaps because of how much water they drink) but they are still losing and right on track! It is way better to drink lots of water than to have a purple stick-- You're doing great!
