Re: peanut butter cookies? can i try them now?
Peanut butter is not allowed until OWL, so it's a no for induction legal. Will it physically harm you? Not unless you're allergic to peanuts, but it may stall your weight loss and peanuts cause cravings for a lot of people. If you're getting bored with induction foods, why not move on to OWL?

How much weight do you have to lose and how much of that has gone already?
Are you finding the induction-allowed foods list restrictive?Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: peanut butter cookies? can i try them now?
According to the BMI Chart in DANDR 2002 (p 157) someone who is 6'3" (75 inches) tall should be 192 (BMI of 24). He says the chart is helpful as a guideline, but stresses "The best weight for you is the one at which you feel comfortable and attractive and can enjoy life. It also needs to be a weight you can maintain."
Based on this information what do you think is your personal ideal weight is?
By the way, great job on your success so far...

Re: peanut butter cookies? can i try them now?
This is my first time on atkins as well. I stayed on induction too long 1 1/2 months thinking that it was what I should do since I have almost 100 pounds to lose. I was getting bored with induction foods and was starting to add in no-no foods. with encouragment from others on this board I moved to owl. I am no longer bored with foods as owl allows you certain foods that aren't allowed on induction. now I am no longer tempted to eat things that aren't allowed. hope this helps.

Do you have the book? For short, it's DANDR 2002 - Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution.
It is invaluable to have. If you don't have one you should order one. In the meantime go here for information on OWL.

Re: peanut butter cookies? can i try them now?
ok it looks like i need to stick to induction a little longer. i only wanted to try these cookies because its coming up to christmas. my family are all having prawn cocktail. I can substitue that with prawn mayo with lemon and garlic. and then i can have christmas dinner. (i'm still looking for how to make low carb gray). and i wanted a dessert so i don't feel left out. So i wanted to make these so i could try 1 to see if i liked them
oh well.

Why are you sticking to induction? It is of course up to you but it sounds like you would be happier moving to OWL. It is a very common misconception that staying in induction forever will speed up your loss. This is absolutely untrue. For many people moving on to OWL even helps kick start stalled loss and a lot of us find the increased choice of foods more rewarding. Up to you, though! Have you read the book?

Re: peanut butter cookies? can i try them now?
I am in owl and still have 50-60 pounds to lose. I am still in ketosis most days. On dys that I'm not in ketosis I just cut out one serving of carbs and get in just a bit of extra walking and I'm back to ketosis the next day. I know that staying in ketosis via the strips is not the goal but it helps. i eat between 30-40 carbs/day. I think that soon I will be leaving the ketostix behind.

There are many induction friendly desserts to be made. Last Christmas I made cheese cake.
