Re: I Can't Believe It's Not Butter during Induction?

I agree with choosing butter over marg, but what about sweetners? Sugar is real food and sweetners are manufactured. Don't get me wrong I eat Atkins bars when I really have a craving and drink diet drinks but there's not enough research into sweetners yet, is there?
Dr Atkins said to avoid Asmartamine K (is that how it's spelt?) but all the UK soft drinks seam to contain it?

The sugars are a whole different area. Where I would prefer to eat 'real' sugar it is really not good for anyone. I use Stevia when I can and that is a natural sweetener. But in a pinch its good 'ol chemical laden Nutrisweet. Splenda gives me wicked headaches.

In one of his other books, Dr. Atkins wrote that his goal for his dieters was to live without added sugars of any kind. And that the sugar substitutes he allowed on his diet was the way to transition off sugar and eventually off sugar substitutes.
