  • Ugh...stress

    I'm at college and it's finals week. I'm very stressed out and yesterday I ate some peanuts. Bad, I know, but I suppose things could be worse. I desperately wanted a donut this morning but stuck to eggs and sausage, eating the donut would only add to my stress. I don't want to ever see the number 170 on the scale again, I bounced back and forth between the 160's and 170 for too long due to cheating.
    Anyway, I only got a couple of hours of sleep and weighed 169 this morning, two pounds up.

    So I'm guessing it's water retention from the salty peanuts as well as not enough sleep?
    Do you guys have trouble losing weight when you're stressed?

    Yes, stress always causes me to want to eat some "comfort foods".

    It looks to me like you are doing great! Keep up the good work!

      Hang in there! Eating sugar during finals when you have been avoiding it will make you feel awful and that doesn't help one to do well on finals! Drink lots of water and stay focused! I'm sure you'll do well on your finals! Good Luck!

        Good for you for avoiding the doughnuts!
        I feel for you, with exams coming up!
        Yes, stress can affect weight loss... also the sodium, of course. Good sleeping patterns help losses too, though I always sleep badly yet got to goal just the same.
        Don't worry about 2 lbs up... you'll probably find it whooshes away when you're more relaxed and can avoid stuff like peanuts.
