  • taking a break from working out

Hi all. You will never guess what i did. I dislocated my shoulder while reaching at an awkward angle to pick up my remote control for the TV. I will be taking a break from working out for awhile even walking around is painful. If I don't keep my arm pretty still and next to my body the pain gets pretty bad. The only good thing that has come out of this is that my hubby is doing the laundry and helping with cooking and the dishes. since I won't be working out very much I am going back to induction. I will restart owl when I start working out regularly again. Does that sound like an ok idea? Have a happy new years

Aawww, sorry about the shoulder ! Pain is no fun.

Rest up and before you know it you'll be back to working out. I'm glad to hear hubby is helping you out.

I would think it would be fine for you to go back to Induction since you won't be able to exercise. However, it wouldn't hurt for you to stay on OWL unless you are worried about a slowdown in weight loss.

    Take care...

Sorry you are hurt, but the body needs a chance to repair it self. When I have not been able to exercise, I always try to increase my water intake. Seems to make me feel better.

        Hi Ruthie,

I'm so sorry to hear that you've dislocated your shoulder. That is a very painful thing to do.

Just a little helpful advice to you regarding shoulders.

Once your shoulder heals up more, you'll want to watch what you do with it a little more carefully then normal due to the fact that shoulders are notorious for dislocating more easily once they've been dislocated once before.

Having said that, you will certainly be able to do your normal activities, however, you'll want to keep and eye on what you're doing so that the shoulder is not put in a compromising position where it can happen again.

May your healing process be swift....you're in my thoughts!

        Many hugs to you!!!!
