Dr. Atkins defined a plateau as 4 consecutive weeks without the loss of inches or pounds.

    So.....

How long have you been "stuck"?
Have you lost inches? If so, then you are not in a weight loss plateau according to Dr. Atkins.

BEEN THERE, and know your frustration but don't give up, its very common on Atkins to have these plateaus. The first time it happened to me it lasted about 6 weeks and I was chewing my fingers I was so frustrated. One morning I woke up and had dropped 5 pounds, then the next week 5 more and then nothing for about 3 more weeks. Look at the big picture and not day to day as it will be frustrating as heck for you.

Also check for carb creep, that sometimes happens after awhile on program. Use fitday for a couple days and see what happens.

I second Megs! How is the inch loss going?

If you are well and truly stalled then try cutting out certain foods to see if they might be stalling you. For me I can't have olives (even though I love them and they are on plan) because they stall me. And I know other people can't have other Atkins legal foods either. Good luck!

Dude, looking at your pic, I'd say most of that weight is probably muscle mass.

That's what I was thinking, Robbie

Have you had your bodyfat measured, Marc? Many Atkineers find they are slimmer at a higher weight than before Atkins because they are building muscle along with burning fat.

We have had a member who was striving for a lower weight untill she had her bodyfat measured in a dunk tank to find she was actually at a lower fat% then was healthy for her and so she readjusted her goal weight.

Drink at least 10 glasses of water spread out throughout the day. For exercise, take long, fast (two miles at least) walks. If you have a place where you can do some hiking, such as a state park nearby, you can do some serious exercise while enjoying the outdoors.Walking up and down hills does the body good!!

I stalled out on my last diet because I was doing too much weight training, walking outdoors takes the weight off better than anything I've found.

As far as inch loss, I haven't really measured myself yet..........But i do notice that clothes are fitting on me a lot better. I know that gaining muscle does make you gain lbs too, but Why have I been stuck at the same weight range for a while now.......maybe like a month?

Because it often happens that way

You are losing fat if your clothes are fitting looser, so just keep up the good work
